The NFC West has three Super Bowl hopefuls and the Arizona Cardinals. Today, we're going to talk about all four teams. This is the final part of an eight-part series that Jeff Bell and I have been working on, going through our divisional previews. We go through team by team, position by position, and player by player. So if this is the first episode you've stumbled across, you've got a lot of catching up to do. We've already done all the AFC teams and three other NFC divisions. But today, Jeff, we are going to talk about the NFC West. And as always, we're going to start with some of the big picture changes for each team. And then we'll kind of peel back the layers. So for the Arizona Cardinals, we've got a new head coach in Michael Flore and a new offensive coordinator in Nathaniel Hackett. Players lost in free agency and trades, Kyler Murray, Trent Shearfield, Greg Dorch, Zay Jones, Michael Carter, Amari Day Mercado, and Jamar Jefferson. They brought in via additions, Tyler Algier, Gardner Minshew, Kendrick Bourne, Devin Duvernay, and Tegan Quintoriano. And then in the draft, third overall pick on Jeremiah Love. They spent a round three pick on Carson Beck. And then a day three pick on Reggie Virgil.
Jeff, we always start by talking about the quarterbacks here. So I don't even know if you can answer this question, but who do you expect to start the most games for the Arizona Cardinals this year?

I do expect Jacobi Berset to start the most games for the Cardinals.
I think it's Carson Beck being a third round pick. Certainly we will see Carson Beck at some point this season. There was talk when they drafted him that they kind of wanted to redshirt Carson Beck, and maybe the Cardinals didn't realize what they had drafted, because you might want to redshirt a first round pick, like Ty Simpson, who we will talk about. But if you're going to the third round pick and you're a bad team, I don't know that redshirting the third round pick quarterback should be in the plans. But I do think we'll see Carson Beck at some point, Jacobi Berset from what we saw last year. I think it's interesting because we've seen Jacobi Berset be a starting quarterback in for stretches in New England, for stretches in Indianapolis. That was a lot of different player than what we saw last year for Arizona. That being said, they weren't exactly trying to play winning football with Jacobi Berset last year.

Yeah. I don't know. I mean, you don't want to say a team is thrown in the towel at the end of June. We're recording this on June 30th.
But does this team really think that they're going to compete? You say playing winning football, is that something that's even in their plans right now? Because to me, when I see this quarterback room, when I see all of the changes that they made, this is very clearly a year in transition. So what I start wondering about is like Jacobi Berset, yeah, it was great last year, all the garbage time fantasy points and what he was able to do for Trey McBride and Michael Wilson and all this sort of stuff. But like, can't they still get that same sort of developmental quarterback play from Gardner Minchew? And then late in the season when they're going to have to make a decision on what they want to do long term at quarterback, they're going to want to see what they have in Carson Beck. So this is one to me, Jeff, where I could be totally wrong here. But I think that we see all three of these quarterbacks, Jacobi Berset, Gardner Minchew and Carson Beck, all start at least one game. I think that we're just going to see this nonstop carousel in their quarterback room.
