You know, at the end of a hard day or even an easy day, there is nothing like getting into a bed that is perfectly suited to your personal needs. Ever since I got my Brooklyn bedding mattress, I have enjoyed going to bed in a way that you don't always enjoy going to bed. It is a luxury. We love it.

SPEAKER_2 (0:27)

Yeah, I got the extra firm in the California King, and I'm trying to convince my 7-year-old that going to sleep is this magical time machine to breakfast. And she still doesn't think about it that way, but I am really loving it. We also have the Glaciotex cooling technology on the top of the mattress. Because I run hot. I tend to overheat. If I'm in a mattress that's kind of just forming around me, I get way too hot. That's not happening with Brooklyn bedding.

Brooklyn bedding really has something for everybody. They've got different firmness options, heights, dimensions, even non-traditional sizes to fit right into your lifestyle so you can have that magical time machine to breakfast. That makes everything all worth it. It's free of fiberglass, which can be harmful to your health. Sleep on your Brooklyn bedding mattress for up to 120 nights. And if you don't like it as much as I like mine, they'll help you return it or pick out a different one.

Dan Beecher (2:19)

I don't know if you know this, no interpretation is required with the Bible. Oh man, I did not know that. I've heard it said many times that it just says what it says and you don't interpret it. Not what McClellan tends to say, but he's not here, so I can say whatever I want.

Aaron Higashi (2:35)

You can say what?

Dan Beecher (2:36)

It's my show.

Hey everybody, you're listening to the Data Over Dogma Podcast where we increase public access to the academic study of the Bible and combat the spread of misinformation about the same. I'm Dan Beecher and there is no Dan McClellan today. Skun, dun, dun. In his stead, we've brought in someone possibly better. It's Aaron Higashi. You've been on the show a bunch of times. Hi Aaron, how are you doing today?

Aaron Higashi (3:09)

I'm so happy to be here. Not better than Dan, but ready to combat misinformation nonetheless.

Dan Beecher (3:14)

You are, and what a combat veteran you are. You've been here a few times. And you are, so just so that the folks at home know, Dr. Higashi, you are a, you're currently operating as a nerd in residence at the Bible for Normal People, is that right?

Aaron Higashi (3:35)

That's correct. I make content for them. I've written a couple of commentaries for them. I have meetings with them, Zoom meetings, the most serious kinds of meetings with them.

Dan Beecher (3:44)

The scariest of all the meetings.

Aaron Higashi (3:46)

Right, yeah.

Dan Beecher (3:47)

And the least amount of pants of all of the meetings.

Aaron Higashi (3:50)

That's true, especially in Phoenix, where it's 110 degrees.

Dan Beecher (3:54)

Good grief, it is hot here, but I can't imagine what it's like in Phoenix. I'm very glad not to be there. Though, I would love to hang out with you. But you are also the author, we had you on before, but to talk about your book, First and Second Samuel for Normal People.

Aaron Higashi (4:17)

That's right.

Dan Beecher (4:18)

Which you did for the Bible for Normal People, and you've got another volume for them coming out about First and Second Chronicles.

Aaron Higashi (4:26)

That's right. Hopefully by the end of the summer, First and Second Chronicles for Normal People.

SPEAKER_6 (4:31)

That's exciting.

Aaron Higashi (4:32)

First and Second Chronicles, some of the most boring books in the Bible, but I try to make them fun and interesting, and maybe even relevant to your life somehow through the magic of scholarly interpretation.
