This is Unnis on Oppas, a fan podcast where we talk about Korean dramas and the actresses and actors who are in Korean dramas, most especially the leading men of Kdramas, also known as our Kdrama boyfriends, also known as Oppas.

And we are your metaphorical big sisters, aka Unnis. I am Susie.
**Lynn** (0:30)
And I am Lynn. And before we start our episode, we like to take a moment of gratitude for someone or something that has made it possible for us to be here today. So Susie, in this episode, to whom would you like to say Jal Meogisseubnida?
**Susie** (0:46)
I would like to thank Time for Myself.
**Lynn** (0:53)
Nice.
**Susie** (0:53)
Which someone who is currently living by myself might seem strange to think because my time is for myself. Not true, friends.
**Lynn** (1:06)
Not true.
**Susie** (1:08)
Eight of them, well, actually, ten of them is for work because of commutes. And also after that, you have to pay bills, or think about doctor's appointments, or whatever. And you might, yes, adulting things and you might say, but that's also for yourself, but not the same friends.
**Lynn** (1:30)
We're not friends if you think that's for yourself.
**Susie** (1:33)
Right? Because none of those things are very fun. And time for yourself should be fun, at least peaceful. And I had sort of both of that because this, as we record, this is the Memorial Day weekend. And a lot of times when there's a holiday like this, my work will give us like early release on the Friday before. And so that's what we had. And I was like, you know what? It's also the Zikers' comeback weekend. And there is a pop-up at a Barnes and Noble downtown. So I went to that. And after, you know, clocking off work right on the dot.
I was like, not one more minute will be spent on this computer.
So, you know, I went downtown and the two ladies that were helping me at the counter at the pop-up were so helpful and so nice. And there were also fans, both of Zikers and ATs. So we like chatted for a bit because there wasn't a lot of people like in line or anything. So we could like chat a bit. And that was really lovely. And the problem with having these pop-ups in a bookstore is you're surrounded by books that you might want to purchase, which I did. And so I just turned it into a treat yourself day. And if you're a fan of Parks and Rec, you will be familiar with this occasion every now and then. You should get yourself something nice just to do it, just for fun. So I picked up some books that I've been eyeing, and one that I didn't know came out, and I really wanted to watch immediately, which is Judi Dench's memoir about her like performances in different Shakespeare plays.
**Lynn** (3:43)
The Shakespeare one, yeah.
**Susie** (3:44)
Yeah. So I'm very excited to read that one, for sure, and it is AAPI Month. So I picked up a couple of those thematically and by authors of AAPI Descent. So just a lovely time there. But the main event really was, this bookstore is next to a restaurant that I've been to before. That was so good that I still like, me and my friends went there one time and the bread that they served, we still like talk about it. We still like dream about it. We're just like, yeah, that bread was so good. And so I was like, you know, it's been like about over a year, I would say, since the last time I was there. So I was like, you know what, why don't I just like go have a nice meal to cap off the night? But it opens at five. And at this point, it's like four. So I'm like, hmm, how do I kill about an hour, you know? So across the street was a Sephora, which is not a place that I typically engage with because I don't use makeup normally. And I know they sell other things. So I do go there for sometimes for like skin products or skin care products or whatnot. But this time I was like, let me check out their fragrance section. So I just start spraying stuff on like pieces of paper, you know?
And they had a lot of things that I've like had on my list to try. So that was good. And I was able to just like smell some things. And I ultimately like bought a couple of like travel size things.
And we shall see. But that did take up like most of an hour, which I was surprised of. So after that, I went to have my dinner. And I, you know, when I'm dining solo, I like to just snag a seat at the bar and do that. And it was just such a, such a good time. Such a good time at the like bartender who act as a server as well, you know, in the bar area. She was so nice and so helpful. Cause I was just like, you know what? I'm, I don't know which one I should choose. Like what do you think kind of thing. And she like gave good suggestions and like, you know, was able to sort of like describe more like the dishes so I could like make better choices.
