Michelle (0:01)
Welcome to Mahjong & Mics, where tiles click, the stories flow, and strategy meets laughter.
Tina (0:06)
I'm Tina.
Michelle (0:07)
And I'm Michelle.
Tina (0:08)
And we're here to bring you all things Mahjong. Whether you're a seasoned player or just shuffling in for the first time, we've got you covered.
Michelle (0:15)
So grab your tiles, pour yourself some tea, or something a little stronger. And let's get started.
Tina (0:22)
Here we go, everybody.
Michelle (0:23)
Hello, In the Smiles. Yeah, we have a special episode today. It is special.
Tina (0:30)
It is special. We're talking about playing it forward because today is about charity and giving back and how that relates to Mahjong. Yes.
Michelle (0:37)
And I think this is all delicious and exciting.
Tina (0:41)
Oh, exciting. There it was. I know. You just need to listen to know the word exciting is going to come out.
Michelle (0:48)
Yes. And we're very tired because we stayed out past our bedtime last night.
Tina (0:51)
Yeah, we did. I'm so tired.
Michelle (0:52)
On a work night.
Tina (0:53)
I'm so tired.
Michelle (0:54)
It was so much fun.
Tina (0:55)
Yes. I don't regret it.
Michelle (0:57)
Yes. These exciting, tantalizing tips will come to fruition soon.
Tina (1:02)
Wow. That was quite the alliteration.
Michelle (1:05)
Did you like that?
Tina (1:06)
That was extra.
Michelle (1:07)
For a tired brain.
Tina (1:09)
That was good.
Michelle (1:10)
Yes.
Tina (1:11)
Okay. Do we want to get into our Mahjong moments? And yes, I've played so many. There's a ton since the last time.
Michelle (1:17)
You go first.
Tina (1:18)
We record it.
Michelle (1:19)
Well, a lot of it involves you. A lot of it does.
Tina (1:22)
Yeah, so there's one day, excuse me, listeners, frog in my throat. You and I played at lunch, and you won three, and I won two.
Michelle (1:30)
That beat me. That's good news for me.
Tina (1:32)
It is. We're fighting for odds, I think, together, I feel like.
And oh, I got a dot. I got a new hand. I had never gotten the one with the sextet of flowers. I tried. I was won away many times. Never got it. So I finally got it. That was good.
Michelle (1:46)
I love that.
Tina (1:47)
So then we played again, and I won two, and Michelle won zero.
Michelle (1:54)
But, do we want to talk about the third game, listeners, that Tina conveniently left out of the story? So, she was going for any numbers, and I didn't realize it, so she lays out three eights. Yes. Were they bams?
Tina (2:09)
Sure.
Michelle (2:10)
Great. So, and we were down to the wire.
Tina (2:13)
Yeah, we were.
Michelle (2:13)
Where we were just looking at the boom, boom. It was like coming down to luck.
Tina (2:17)
One of us was gonna draw what we needed.
Michelle (2:18)
So she yells, Mahjong, and I'm kind of annoyed. So I flipped my tiles off. Well, guess what, ladies and gentlemen, she was D-E-A-D dead. I was. She did the bojong.
Tina (2:33)
I think I was operating off of an old card, and that's my fault, listeners. I didn't even look at the card. I just dug in on the hand. I knew what I was gonna do.
Michelle (2:40)
You got over skis.
Tina (2:41)
Yeah, guess what? That any like numbers? It's not a punk in the middle. That's a pair of friends.
Michelle (2:46)
It is.
Tina (2:47)
I really screwed up.
Michelle (2:49)
And she stole a win from me, because in my temper tantrum, I threw my tiles up. Yeah, so there is that delicious story.
Tina (3:00)
That was fun.
Michelle (3:01)
It was fun.
Tina (3:02)
What else you got?
Michelle (3:04)
Okay, a lot. I have a pair of lunch Thursday tied to with Tina.
Tina (3:09)
I don't know about it. We must have played a different way all the time. Yeah.
Michelle (3:12)
Then lunch Friday, me too, Tina won, and I got a concealed 2468
Tina (3:17)
Oh, we played a lot of Mahjong together.
Michelle (3:19)
I know. If I hadn't read it, and then I do need to tell the listeners the Forgetful Tristey story.
Tina (3:24)
Oh, it's good.
Michelle (3:25)
So ladies and gentlemen of the jury, she has now used menopause as an official ADA disability, which that part I agree on. But she's trying, so Tristey's really sweet, but she's like, I don't know, she really is sweet. But she uses, like, her sweetness.
Tina (3:45)
She butters you up so that she can get her way.
