Jared James Nichols (0:47)
Dude, what are you doing?
Tyler Larson (0:49)
Starting an argument.
Jared James Nichols (0:51)
About what?
Tyler Larson (0:52)
Relic guitars.
Jared James Nichols (0:54)
Dude, let me see that phone.
Tyler Larson (0:55)
Look, we built a guitar community inside No Cover Charge called The Backstage. Post your guitars, you're playing, talk gear, ask questions.
Jared James Nichols (1:04)
Give unsolicited opinions.
Tyler Larson (1:06)
Actually, that part was not technically a feature. What are you writing?
Jared James Nichols (1:12)
Tone wood matters.

Remember on Dumb and Dumber when he's like...
Dude, your Les Paul's acting up, bro. All of a sudden, I'm sitting here like Jared's got a problem. He starts... I got hooked on Deoxit, bro.
Tyler Larson (1:45)
True life story.
Jared James Nichols (1:46)
Shout out to Deoxit for real, if anyone doesn't know about this.
Trevor Boone (1:49)
For real, man.
Jared James Nichols (1:49)
For real.
Tyler Larson (1:50)
Yeah, not sponsored by Deoxit, but Dan will use their stuff a lot.
Jared James Nichols (1:53)
If you have a scratchy paw, scratchy in between your leg, anywhere, you need some BL.
Trevor Boone (1:59)
A little lift.
Jared James Nichols (2:00)
Yeah, a little lift. This Deoxit, seriously. That's like the WD-40 for electric guitars.
Trevor Boone (2:04)
Every time I bring an amp back to my in-house amp guy, it's like, I think it's gonna be a big operation. He's just, it's like perfect.
I know.
Tyler Larson (2:13)
Well, where do we begin with this gentleman on the couch here?
Jared James Nichols (2:16)
This modern legend.
Tyler Larson (2:17)
Yeah, seriously, that's a great moniker for this guy. Trevor Boone, Emerald City Guitars.
What do we call you, the caretaker, the...
Trevor Boone (2:26)
Matchmaker?
Jared James Nichols (2:26)
He's the Willy Wonka.
Trevor Boone (2:28)
Yeah, the Willy Wonka.
Tyler Larson (2:29)
You're the brains behind one of the best guitar shops in the world.
And I see the stuff that you put out to further on the love of guitar, like Jared and I try to do our thing. You have your very distinct lane. Probably the coolest name for any sort of series I've ever heard, Guitar V, where you go in an RV and find guitars across the country.
Trevor Boone (2:53)
We just finished the 17th Guitar V in like six years. So it's like, you know, they're like 12 days to two weeks. It's a lot of time on a bus with four dirty musicians, you know, and it starts out like we try to kind of clean it up when we take off at the end of two weeks. I mean, you know, the wheels fall off. Dude, it looks like a guitar shop, you know, it's just like, cause we're getting not only guitars, but at the end of it, there's old pirate knives and skulls.
Jared James Nichols (3:19)
You start collecting, you're like, where'd we get this?
Trevor Boone (3:21)
I know, man. You're carrying signs in the back. I mean, I slept with an old 67 Schwinn bike I got from Brian Ray. Like, and they got, I bring it back to the bus. They're like, are you kidding me, dude?
SPEAKER_1 (3:30)
Like, there's no room.
Tyler Larson (3:32)
You're the first lefty we've had on.
Jared James Nichols (3:34)
Well, I'm a lefty.
Trevor Boone (3:35)
I'm opposite of you.
SPEAKER_1 (3:36)
Oh, technically, yeah.
Jared James Nichols (3:37)
You're a righty?
Trevor Boone (3:38)
In everything except guitar. And I thought, I didn't know that until like, I don't know.
Jared James Nichols (3:42)
Step brothers, did we just become best friends?
Trevor Boone (3:45)
Yeah, it's kind of funny. I, by the way, I watched your Gibson. Dude, it was so good and super moving. Thank you, brother. On a lot of levels, it really moved me. Thank you so much. Totally brought me back. Like the early footage of you playing and like, cause I, you know, had kind of a parallel thing and your old man was so fucking cool. And it was just, it was just a really rad peek into like something I didn't know about you. Yeah, dude.
