You know, if you make a decision, and literally everyone walks away from you, no matter what that decision is, it just looks bad for you. No matter what side of history you're on with it.
Aviv (0:25)
You must be more specific. I don't know what you're talking about.
Matthew Reuter (0:29)
So, if I can't tell if you're being serious or not.
Aviv (0:34)
I am not being serious.
Matthew Reuter (0:35)
Oh, okay. Yeah, so the whole-
Aviv (0:38)
So for future listeners-
Matthew Reuter (0:40)
For posterity, we are recording this on September 17th.
Aviv (0:44)
2026 Macklemore made a spiel, if you will, about Palestine and then Robert Kraft.
Matthew Reuter (0:54)
I mean, to say it's a spiel, did you see it? Like to say that's a spiel, I don't know.
Aviv (0:59)
Spiel.
Matthew Reuter (1:00)
How is that? I mean, it's just spiel. Okay.
He didn't bring out like the pro-Palestine dancers.
Aviv (1:06)
No, spiel doesn't mean huge. That's a whole Magilla.
Matthew Reuter (1:11)
Oh, okay. Excuse me. Forgive me. All right.
Aviv (1:15)
Wow. It's getting a little anti-Semitic in here.
And so Robert Kraft conspired with a bunch of other stadium owners to say that if he continues on Ed Sheeran's tour, who he was opening for, that they would just like pull the stadium, which is a weird thing. I like, first of all, like call, call, call his fucking bluff. First, that's not going to fucking happen. But Ed Sheeran, you know, strong, brave Ed Sheeran said, buy Macklemore and then every single other musician that was touring with Ed Sheeran, including his own backing band.
Matthew Reuter (1:52)
Including his own band.
Aviv (1:56)
Well, they're Irish.
Matthew Reuter (1:57)
And this was the, okay, so, so many things on, on this. One, Ed Sheeran, it is my understanding, at least according to the internet, you have several Irish tattoos on your body. So you now have to have those fucking removed.
Aviv (2:12)
Yeah, I mean, he-
Matthew Reuter (2:13)
And not like you get to go to like, like a surge, like, no, no, no, like, like Sons of Anarchy style. Someone's going to come with a-
With a, like, a potato peeler and is going to take it off of your fucking skin. So you fucking pussy. Alright, secondly, boy, isn't it- I mean, secondly, wouldn't you expect a lot of the people that you have going on tour with you who are also Irish? What did you think was going to happen?
Aviv (2:40)
So I don't- Ed Sheeran isn't Irish.
Matthew Reuter (2:43)
No, he's not. He's English. Yeah.
Aviv (2:46)
So there's your problem.
Matthew Reuter (2:47)
Right. But here's the thing, being English, you think he's probably fairly equated with the Irish. And probably has some opinions about, yes, having oppressed them, but has a pretty good understanding of how Ireland might feel. Ireland and the Irish might feel about something like this. So by doing that, I don't really understand, including Macklemore, who is Irish by, like, blood. Like he is of Irish descent somewhere there. So it's like, again, I don't really understand why, what you thought was going to happen here, how you weren't going to be left holding the bag, but okay, you're stupid and you did that. Secondly, thirdly, excuse me, boy, when-
Aviv (3:25)
I have thoughts, I have feelings.
Matthew Reuter (3:26)
When Ed Sheeran, the multi hundreds of millionaire person, is the proletariat in the situation.
Aviv (3:36)
I mean, he's not, but-
Matthew Reuter (3:37)
But he is compared to Robert Kraft, who controls the means of production.
Aviv (3:41)
Who is the bourgeoisie?
Matthew Reuter (3:43)
So the 400 millionaires in this, we are living in such an insane world where literally even the giants, like the people that can buy and sell the average person, this is how out of touch everyone is, where it's like, well, when it's the multi hundreds millionaires versus the billionaires, we are fucked. Because then it's like, what chance does literally anyone have when someone who has the resources, and by the way, had he called that bluff or said, fine, then I guess all my fans, or play in the parking lot, or we'll look for other venues, or, hey, everyone that now can't come see us because the tour is canceled, go bitch at Robert Kraft.
Aviv (4:23)
Yeah.
Matthew Reuter (4:24)
Go fucking do something with him. That's not my decision.
Aviv (4:27)
His, his, he played, I mean, he is, you're right, not the ultimate villain in this scenario, but he played it the absolute worst. And that's the part where he has no fucking game.
