Thanks for tuning in to Becoming Something, where we promise to keep the conversation honest and real for young adults in their 20s and 30s. Every moment we live is training for a future moment, and that's why we do this podcast, because we want you to be prepared for everything that life is going to throw at you.

Our hope with this podcast is that it would help you become all that God desires you to be. So with that in mind, let's jump right in to this week's episode of Becoming Something.

Jonathan Pokluda (0:47)

I want you to know that we're coming to a city near you. We're going to Columbus, Ohio. We're going to Nashville, Tennessee. We're going to Houston, Texas. We're going to Dallas, Texas. If you can get to one of those cities within two hours, you can fly there, because you got a southwest pass or something, or you got points. Come to Columbus, Ohio. Come to Nashville, Tennessee. Come to Houston, Texas. Come to Dallas, Texas. Go to becoming something.com. Get tickets. Bring friends. It's going to be an amazing night of us just hanging out. Because they're going to pick the question. They're going to pick the topics.

Kathy Davidson (1:19)

Ask the questions that you want.

Jonathan Pokluda (1:20)

That's right. You choose the topic. We're going to record the podcast there in your city.

You'll get to be on it because you'll be there live with us. And I just want to make sure you do that. What's up, Podcast World? It's your boy JP in the Podcast Studio with Kathy Davidson.

Kathy Davidson (1:35)

What's up?

Jonathan Pokluda (1:36)

Kathy Davidson.

Nate Hilgenkamp (1:36)

How are you?

Jonathan Pokluda (1:38)

What are you smiling at?

Nate Hilgenkamp (1:40)

I'm just jealous that you gave her a gift and she uses it all the time.

Kathy Davidson (1:45)

Yep.

Nate Hilgenkamp (1:45)

And I'm just over here like.

Jonathan Pokluda (1:46)

You're jealous that she uses it all the time? Yes.

Nate Hilgenkamp (1:50)

I just want to know that I'm loved too. But you're not.

Kathy Davidson (1:54)

You are.

Jonathan Pokluda (1:55)

That was so fast. But you're not loved. By so many people. I mean, God loves you, your mom loves you, you know. We love you. My kids do. Your kids love you, your wife. Did I say on here, have I said on here that Nate's family reached out and thanked me for being on his podcast?

Did I tell you that?

It was handwritten. Have I told you that? I don't believe you. No, I'm dead serious. 100%. My dad wrote a note. Mailed a note.

Kathy Davidson (2:23)

Like being funny, though.

Jonathan Pokluda (2:24)

Mailed me a note. Thanked me for being on his podcast.

Kathy Davidson (2:27)

That's amazing.

Jonathan Pokluda (2:28)

Well, where do you think he gets it from? Oh, yeah, we are.

Kathy Davidson (2:30)

I love his parents. They helped me out recently. Shout out.

Nate Hilgenkamp (2:34)

I mean, how'd they help you?

Jonathan Pokluda (2:36)

How'd they help her?

Kathy Davidson (2:37)

I don't know if they want me to say it on the podcast.

Jonathan Pokluda (2:42)

Anyway, JP helped them out. Your parents helped her? We're gonna talk about that.

Nate Hilgenkamp (2:47)

JP got my family floor-level tickets to the Forrest Frank concert. So my dad wrote a thank you note.

And at the end, he's like, PS, thanks for also being on Nate's podcast.

Jonathan Pokluda (2:57)

I didn't get them floor-level tickets. I just said, to be clear, I did not. Forrest is listening. He's like, wait, what? That's true. No, I just said, come here.

Kathy Davidson (3:07)

Yeah, that's right.

Jonathan Pokluda (3:09)

That's all that happened. That's right. Oh, man.

That's good. Guys, how we doing?

Nate Hilgenkamp (3:14)

It's good to see you in Waco.

Jonathan Pokluda (3:16)

We're recording on a different day. I'm out of rhythm.

Nate Hilgenkamp (3:18)

I mean, you're posting about California. Anyone who's listening from California, you don't know how amazing you have it. Like, you're posting pictures.

Jonathan Pokluda (3:24)

I'm like, why?

Kathy Davidson (3:24)

When people hear from California, I don't get it.

Jonathan Pokluda (3:27)

Well, I'll tell you. It's so pretty.

It is beautiful. The weather is amazing. I would never want to live there. Like, I'm grateful.

Nate Hilgenkamp (3:36)

But the things that you post, I'm like, I'm moving there tomorrow. Like, it looks amazing.

Jonathan Pokluda (3:41)

Yeah, but the traffic. I mean, like, you've never seen traffic. Like, what's... I've never seen this on Google Maps, where it'll say, hey, your destination is, you know, it's 15 miles and it will take you an hour and 48 minutes.
