Welcome to Down to Herf, the podcast for cigar smokers, whiskey drinkers, and for the people just looking to kick back, light up, and have a good time. I'm your host Jerry, and I'm joined by, as always, my co-host, Gio and Caleb. Fellas, fellas, fellas, it is Monday night. I think Monday Night Football has probably, it probably just started about 30 minutes ago. We're not watching it.
I mean, I'm curious what's happening. But, you know, it was a great weekend. Caleb, what's up?
Caleb (0:40)
Nothing, I mean, it wasn't that great for me. I caught an eye infection, so no contacts, got the glasses on, little sniffly too. That fall weather's really coming in right now. I think it's the first day of fall anyways today.
Jerry (0:51)
But I'm really glad you brought it here, where I feel good and I'm not sick. It was my eyes. And don't have pink eye. I'm glad you brought it all here.
Caleb (0:57)
Not pink eye, it was an eye infection from my contacts. So I gotta give a little pause on them.
Jerry (1:03)
Yeah, I'm happy you brought it.
Caleb (1:07)
I'm not gonna give you an eye infection. I'm not touching my fingers, touching my eye, and then poking you in the eye. I'm not doing that.
Jerry (1:13)
All right, I'm gonna throw it over to Gio, who's Googling something.
Gio (1:19)
How to not get an eye infection.
Caleb (1:20)
Maybe I'll touch Gio with my eye and my finger. I'll give it to him, not you.
Jerry (1:24)
Do you have the foam basket, Caleb? We're gonna put that out there for Gio.
Caleb (1:27)
The foam basket? Oh, the foam basket. We need a Faraday cage for that.
Jerry (1:30)
Yeah, we do. We need to lock that thing up in a safe.
Gio (1:34)
Anywho. So yeah, we had an interesting weekend, you know, Jerry, anxiety to the max right now.
Jerry (1:43)
I'm fine. I'm good. I just drank a little too much on Saturday.
It happens. What are you going to do? It was our buddy's celebration. It was a stag.
Gio (1:52)
Of course. Do we have to explain that? Like, do people know what a stag is? I feel like that's a Buffalo thing.
Jerry (1:57)
It is. It's like, I don't know, a bunch of your buddies who are all men go out and drink and donate money to The Bachelor. Yeah. And then just really, there's nothing else to do but like get as drunk as humanly possible. It's an open bar.
Gio (2:11)
And be very degenerate. Like you go to a trashy bar.
Jerry (2:14)
Yeah.
Caleb (2:15)
You gamble, do a little gambling, cards, whatever. Yeah. There's always the card game.
Gio (2:20)
There's always a CD strip club.
It's just, that's the thing. It's a Buffalo tradition. It is completely separate from a bachelor party. We do both.
Jerry (2:30)
Yeah, I know, right? It's so stupid. We have to clarify that. Yeah, we do do both.
Caleb (2:35)
The stag is like the money generating effect. And then the bachelor party is the good time.
Gio (2:40)
Yeah, that's where you actually do like fun shit and it's not trashy.
Jerry (2:44)
No, no, no. Like, I don't think I've ever been to a stag that wasn't trashy and or had disastrous parts.
Caleb (2:50)
Well, yeah, like a stag, you never go to a nice fancy bar. You always go to the dive bar.
Jerry (2:54)
Correct. Yeah, you always end up. You get way too drunk. You do dumbass shit. And then in the morning you say, why do I drink like this?
Caleb (3:03)
I'm in my mid thirties.
Jerry (3:05)
Yeah, I'm in my late thirties.
SPEAKER_4 (3:08)
Officially, a little bit.
Gio (3:11)
Was that was that your worst hangover of your late thirties?
Jerry (3:15)
No, not even close.
Gio (3:18)
What was the worst that you would rank by far?
Jerry (3:20)
I wouldn't even say that that was one of the worst.
Gio (3:23)
I'm talking about since you've been 36
Jerry (3:27)
I honestly, I think the last day when we were leaving Louisville a couple of weeks ago was probably the worst and then we had to drive eight hours home.
SPEAKER_5 (3:39)
That made it 100 times worse.
Gio (3:41)
You were pretty bad.
Jerry (3:42)
Yeah. And I was, you know, shit in my pants every 30 miles. Like it took forever.
Gio (3:47)
And you wasn't township.
Jerry (3:50)
Exactly. So like it wasn't a good. It wasn't a good atmosphere. So I think that made it worse. And then we were on three hours of sleep. And, you know, I I'll be honest with you. It's horrible. That was the worst one.
