Showing the target of an action or attitude. This is used to show who or what an action, feeling, attitude or opinion is directed toward. The noun before に対して is the target. For example, The teacher takes a strict attitude toward the students. To what the students? This is Gakusei ni taishite, Gakusei ni taishite. To take a strict attitude, this is Kibishii taido wo toru.
