I will play the video for the stream. This is a safe video, correct?
Trainwrecks (0:29)
Okay, great.
Trainwrecks (0:30)
All right, I'm going to play right now, 3, 2, 1, I'm playing it now.
SPEAKER_3 (0:34)
And by every time you re-tweet one of these things, or every time you promote this idea, you are promoting ignorance, racism, genocide, anti-Semitism. These are all things that you are putting forward when you are doing anything that promotes PewDiePie.
So be careful about this. If someone decided to, if something were to happen, if PewDiePie were to be sued for this, you could be complicit. If you retweet it, they could make you pay a fine as well because you have officially published anti-Semitic things. So if you are republishing this stuff, you could get in trouble for it. Be very aware that that is a real thing.
Trainwrecks (1:14)
Jesus Christ, dude, that is, I mean, first of all, saying that you could be complicit for retweeting, I think, is a little ridiculous, isn't it? I mean-
Destiny (1:23)
This whole video is so dumb. It's, I don't need, I'll assume it's real.
But whatever this teacher said is fucking stupid. It's not even worth talking about. This is literally a fucking stupid teacher. Nothing they said is real. You're not going to be complicit for some, this is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard in my life.
Alebrelle (1:35)
You are complicit in it, absolutely. That's what the word complicit means. No, no, no, no, she's being involved in an action.
Destiny (1:44)
Yeah, but this teacher was talking about, this teacher is talking about like legal shit or whatever. You're not going to get sued or some shit for it.
Alebrelle (1:49)
It's unlikely, but you could be found legally culpable. But it would be an edge case.
Hasan Piker (1:55)
No way, dude.
Alebrelle (1:57)
No way.
Hasan Piker (1:57)
I don't think you could be found legally culpable for retweeting a PewDiePie video, dude.
Destiny (2:01)
That's crazy.
Hasan Piker (2:03)
That's crazy. And look, I'm fucking with you.
Alebrelle (2:05)
We don't know the context in which he was speaking either. He could be talking about PewDiePie as an example of something bigger.
Destiny (2:12)
Even if somebody retweeted, I want to kill all the Jews. If someone goes and kills Jews, you're never going to be held for retweeting something that someone's going to take you to court for something like that. It's just not going to happen.
Hasan Piker (2:21)
Also, what you're referencing, it couldn't even happen in America anyway. Maybe the teacher, let's say that the teacher is like maybe in Germany or another country that has additional restrictions placed upon free speech, like hate crime laws or I mean hate speech laws. Even then, retweeting something is not going to land you in jail.
You would get you in any sort of legal trouble. Everyone would be going, everyone would get in legal trouble if that was the case.
I think the teacher is out of his mind. I think he's just like trying to scare his students. That's sort of like over the top hysteria is not necessarily productive. And it all of a sudden makes it seem like the other side is totally the reasonable ones. And the people who are just memeing bro, even if they might be like actual Nazis, are the reasonable ones as opposed to the other side. Like the people like the teacher or hysterical S.A.W.s.
Alebrelle (3:15)
Sure. I'll give you that. Optics matter.
Destiny (3:17)
Yeah, I do. If you're talking like in a moral, ethical sense, of course, I agree with you that you are complicit in terms of retweeting stuff like that. Just but this teacher is coming at it from like a legal side, which was bizarro. I don't think it's productive at all.
Hasan Piker (3:28)
Did you guys see the other video of the kids like sig-hiling to PewDiePie though? That was crazy.
Oh my, oh my God, dude. Yo, OK, hold on. Let me see if I can find it here. I'll put it in the chat if I can find it.
Trainwrecks (3:41)
Yeah, we can't show sig-hile.
Hasan Piker (3:43)
No, no, no. OK, you don't have to put it then. Never mind. But it's just I'll describe to you the video then. They have a counter up with the T-Series side by side with the PewDiePie counter, sub counter, OK?
And it's just like a bunch of middle school kids. And the counter finally for PewDiePie hits 69, 69, 69, whatever, like 69 million. So this was like a while ago.
