This episode is brought to you by Mint Mobile. Andrew, summer is over now, but you can still carry the spirit of summer, the spirit of those carefree months with no homework or school and the freedom to get away from a big wireless company that's gonna lock you in and overcharge you. That's right. Thanks to Mint Mobile's summer sale, all of Mint's plans are $15 per month, even unlimited. So free yourself from big wireless and their gimmicks and switch to Mint for high-speed data and coverage on the T-Mobile 5G network. Andrew, would you please talk about your personal experience using Mint Mobile? Is it easy? How high is the quality of service? Are you saving?
Andrew Cunningham (0:42)
I think even when the ad copy is ambiguous, it's fine because Mint is a phone plan provider for all seasons. I have in every one of the four seasons, Mint Mobile has given me good, reliable and inexpensive cell phone service that I have had nothing bad to say about.
Craig Getting (1:00)

While Andrew and Craig believe the joy of discovery is crucial to enjoying any well-told tale, they will not shy away from spoiling specific story beats when necessary. Plus, these are books you should have read by now.
Craig Getting (2:22)
Hey everybody, welcome to Overdue. It's a podcast about the books you've been meaning to read. My name is Craig.
Andrew Cunningham (2:28)
My name is Andrew. Meow.
Craig Getting (2:33)
Meow.
Andrew Cunningham (2:35)
I'm so excited, Craig, to talk about, to talk about Kitties on the podcast this week.
Craig Getting (2:39)
Kitties?
Andrew Cunningham (2:40)
Yeah, Kitties, because you read the book Kitten Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. For this hour book podcast, where each week, one of us reads a book that we've never read before and tells the other person about it, tells you about it. We have some larfs, we do some goofs, we learn a little, we laugh a little, we love a little.
Craig Getting (3:03)
I regret to inform you, Andrew, I don't know what research is.
Andrew Cunningham (3:08)
I'm excited to talk about Kitties, because of Kitten Confidential, the book that you read.
Craig Getting (3:14)
This sounds like a Sesame Street gag. This sounds like, and I'm not, and I don't say that derogatorily.
Andrew Cunningham (3:22)
Why are you sorry to tell me?
Craig Getting (3:25)
There are some good Sesame Street goofs out there. I feel like there's a Waiting for Grover out there.
Andrew Cunningham (3:32)
You feel like there's a sketch where Elmo, and Anthony Bourdain is there.
Craig Getting (3:39)
Yes.
Andrew Cunningham (3:40)
Elmo wants to talk to him about his book, Kitten Confidential.
Craig Getting (3:42)
Yes, and he's covered in kittens, and they're spelling words that pertain to kittens.
Andrew Cunningham (3:48)
In the universe, Anthony Bourdain has written a book called Kitten Confidential, and he wants to talk with Elmo about it.
Craig Getting (3:54)
I think that's exactly right. Unfortunately, Andrew, I did not read Kitten Confidential, though if you would like to write one about your adventures with kittens, I would implore you to do so.
Andrew Cunningham (4:06)
One book called Kitten Confidential. Yeah. OK.
Craig Getting (4:11)
But no, I read Kitchen Confidential. Order up. 86, your idea. We're talking about my thing now.
Andrew Cunningham (4:19)
All right. Corner, chef.
Craig Getting (4:21)
My hands. Nobody says corner in this book.
But I do. It is worth noting, I think we live in a post the bear world, where we've all at least heard of the bear, probably.
Andrew Cunningham (4:35)
Yeah. And everybody calling everybody chef all the time. Yeah. Other stuff that happens in the bear.
Craig Getting (4:39)
Yes.
Andrew Cunningham (4:40)
And I feel like the the bear does not exist without this book.
Craig Getting (4:43)
I wholeheartedly agree. That's what I was going to say. There are stretches of this book that feel like, oh, I saw that on the bear. And, you know, that's not fair to this book. But also, I think there's stuff in this book that is a little time capsule-y in a way I probably should have expected for a series of nonfiction essays, creative nonfiction, let's call it.
