Well, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Working Perspectives Podcast, presents Four Dads, Bye Dads. I'm Matt Lavelle, that handsome bastard is Liam Rees, and that other son of a bitch is Bern Podkasey. Tonight, on the show, we're bringing up some TV sitcom dads, and we're going to rank them S-tier through F-tier. S-tier is the absolute legend, then there's A-tier, who's the icon, B-tier, who's talented, C-tier, average, D-tier, not so good, F-tier, the absolute worst. We've been doing this the last couple weeks, having a great time with it. Hopefully, if you're watching this on YouTube, it's in an immersive view, and maybe we figured it out, but probably not. So yeah, if you're watching on YouTube, you'll know we fucked up. Either way, a lot of fun. This is episode 576 of the Working Perspectives Podcast. I'm Matt Lavelle, he's Bern Podkasey, and that handsome bastard is Liam Reese. Let's get this thing started. Let's rank some dads. Let's go.
You know, the last couple, I've been throwing in the old theme song, Bern.
I know that.
**Bern Podkasey** (2:10)
I love, oh yeah, dude, I love the other one.
**Matt Lavelle** (2:11)
Honestly, I've been digging it. I've been digging it.
**Bern Podkasey** (2:14)
It's always going to bop.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:16)
It's our objective to be effective.
**Liam Rees** (2:20)
And while we inform.
**Matt Lavelle** (2:23)
Yeah, pretty good, right?
**Liam Rees** (2:24)
Yep.
**Bern Podkasey** (2:25)
No, it's a bopper. It's a bopper right there.
**Matt Lavelle** (2:27)
I paid Randy Lott a $50, and he made that in 12 minutes.
**Bern Podkasey** (2:32)
Best $50 ever spent, man.
**Matt Lavelle** (2:35)
I'll tell you, I wrote the lyrics, and he just, he crushed it. I love it. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So here we go. Tonight on the show, we're ranking TV dads. I'm going to give you a little recap what we got so far. So in the S tier, the absolute top of the chats, we got two men and they deserve to be there.
First man in the S tier, the absolute legends of TV sitcom dads set the standard, the one and only, the Honorable Judge Philip Banks.
And then he's joined by, he's just the best, Dan Connors. He's Dan Connors. He doesn't need a title like Honorable because he's Dan Connors. All right. Then in the A tier, little dispute about this guy should be in S tier, but he ended up in A tier. We're talking about Alan Matthews from Boy Meets World, all time dad, great dad, should have been in S tier, ended up in A tier, no big deal, no one's bitter about it. And then also in A tier, our first A, first one we stuck in the A, good old Jack Arnold from The Wonder Years. Definitely is in A. Then we're going to the B tier. Somehow, B stands for Bundy, because Al Bundy ended up in the B tier alongside, and I do not know how this guy is here, the one and only Thawney Soprano. Thawney. All right? C tier, he's here because of his personal life, not because of himself as a TV dad. I'm talking about old Heathcliff Huxtable, he's a C tier.
He's really not, but you know, personal lives came into whatever. And then we got Homer Simpson, who is also in the C tier. Then the D tier, we have Frank Reynolds from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. And then F tier, Liam finally stuck one in the F, he F'ed one, the one and only George Bluth Sr. We, I'll tell you, we tried like hell to get George out of the F and we couldn't.
**Bern Podkasey** (4:28)
Couldn't do it.
**Liam Rees** (4:29)
You can't.
**Bern Podkasey** (4:29)
Couldn't justify it.
**Liam Rees** (4:30)
There's no way.
**Matt Lavelle** (4:31)
Could not do it.
**Bern Podkasey** (4:33)
We tried a bunch of different avenues, but there was no dispute.
**Liam Rees** (4:37)
You can't, he's horrible. He is awful.
**Bern Podkasey** (4:41)
Locked Timothy in the F.
**Matt Lavelle** (4:42)
So here we go. So here's how it's gonna work, is that you're gonna select your dad. Whoever selects the dad, they're gonna put them in the tier, and then when they put them in the tier, they have their opening statement on why they think they're in that tier. Then we're gonna argue them. We're gonna go over it, and then they'll have a closing statement, and then we'll do a finalized ranking. Alright, so, how about you, Ben D. Podolini?
Let's kick it off with you, you handsome bastard.
**Bern Podkasey** (5:15)
Alright, thank you very much, my esteemed colleagues. Today, I would like to present to you what I think it is.
