Well, recently, I was laying in bed, and me and my wife, we tried to pick a movie to watch. She wasn't the movie connoisseur. She didn't grow up watching all the movies, so a lot of times, I like to throw on her way that maybe she hasn't seen. You might be surprised, this week's movie that she had never seen was Dirty Dancing. You gentlemen are familiar with that movie.
I haven't seen Dirty Dancing in a while. I remember it from when I was a kid. I also remember the classic scenes, time of your life, do the lift at the end, everyone knows about. After watching the movie, there's a camp where you go with your family to be taught how to dance by these instructors that are paid to teach you how to dance.
**Matt LeVell** (2:57)
Yeah.
**Tom LeVell** (2:57)
But then they have a secret dance club that no one... The whole premise of the camp is a bit ridiculous. I just want to know if maybe I'm out of touch or if it's the movie.
**Matt LeVell** (3:14)
I remember they were talking about the struggles of keeping the camp open.
No one wants to learn the Foxtrot anymore. No one wants to learn the Boogaloo, whatever the hell it's called, right? Like they're struggling and you think it's because maybe that idea was out pass because Swayze is like, no, we can keep the dance camp alive, but we got to get the right dances in here. We're not dancing the right dance.
**Bern Pocasi** (3:41)
This is the entire, this is why the Secret Dance Club exists, right? Because the brass, the brass of the camp is like, no, no, no, we stick with the classics and Swayze is like, yeah, but we got all these young people with their juices flowing. We got to go. Yeah, we want to dance in a different way. So we'll teach you your little two steps, your little back and forth bullshit if we have to. But the real dancing, the real stuff that's happening after hours. And that's where things get dangerous in the Catskills, fellas.
**Matt LeVell** (4:08)
That's where things get dangerous and dirty.
**Bern Pocasi** (4:11)
Sure does.
**Matt LeVell** (4:12)
I think it was Swayze who coined the phrase when dancing is outlawed, only the outlaws will dance.
**Bern Pocasi** (4:19)
I think that was Footloose. But anyway, yeah, I think that was Footloose. I got a lot of fun with Swayze's story, right? My old man back in the day, I was young, six, seven, right? Whatever.
Used to go rent movies from this grocery store, Price Chopper, and then you come in. This was before Blockbuster days. They would come in the big blue box and then come home and give me a movie. It makes a popcorn. I watch it. It was the greatest thing in the world. One day he came home with two movies and was like, you're not allowed to watch this one. Well, I was like, well, we'll see about that. I trot at my happy six-year-old ass down at five o'clock in the morning and threw that bad boy in the VCR. Because I wasn't going to be told that movies come home. They're for me. We should watch this.
**Matt LeVell** (5:02)
Sure.
**Bern Pocasi** (5:03)
Someone came down, caught me watching. I got in trouble. I got grounded or whatever. Meanwhile, all for the sake of watching a movie that at the age of six years old, I could not comprehend anything that was happening. Nothing was animated.
