**Al Lavelle** (0:00)
Well, how do you do? And welcome to another episode of the Working Perspectives Podcast presents Beat the Bros. I'm Al Lavelle, he's Burt Pocasey, and that handsome bastard is Liam Reese. Today, we got a good one for you. First, we're getting a little nostalgic. We're going over the top 10 mall stores that defines a golden era of shopping, and what an era it was. And then after that, Liam and myself are going to have 20 questions to guess an entertainer that Burt has thought of. The way that will work is that we ask 5 questions, we get a 2 minute break, we ask another 5, 2 minute break until so and so on, until we either get it or we run out of questions. It's going to be a lot of fun. And then your boy, old Uncle Matty, I have some incredible, weird, bizarre news stories that I'm going to leave the good bits out of, and they're going to have to guess what's going down. Super excited for this. It's Beat the Bros. It's episode 569 of the Working Perspectives Podcast. Let's get this thing started. Let's go.
All right, Schmig Daddy, take it away.

**Liam Reese** (1:12)
All right, boys, today for our top 10, we are doing the top 10 mall stores of all time.

**Burt Pocasey** (1:19)
Shit. Hold on.

**Liam Reese** (1:21)
How am I going to say it? Hold on. I got to start over. Top 10 mall stores of all time.
Wait, how did we say this before? Top 10 mall stores of all time during the golden age of shopping. Okay.

**Al Lavelle** (1:37)
I have it that it's the top 10 mall stores that define the golden age of shopping.

**Liam Reese** (1:42)
Oh, yeah, that define the golden. Okay, yeah, let's do that. Okay, ready? Three, two, one. All right, boys, today, we are going to be doing the top 10 mall stores of all time that define the golden age of shopping. That would be probably from around, I would say, 1995 to 2005 is probably when things started to really die down.
All right, so top 10, you did it, we all did it, we all loved it, you know, hang out with your friends at the mall. What stores did you love the most?

**Al Lavelle** (2:15)
Love it. All right, good deal. Vern, are you ready?

**Burt Pocasey** (2:18)
I'm ready, baby.

**Al Lavelle** (2:20)
All right, I'm starting the timer. Go ahead, Ben Didi, don't take my first one.

**Burt Pocasey** (2:25)
Oh, man, Liam, can I see Foot Locker?

**Liam Reese** (2:28)
Oh, oh, oh, Foot Locker is not on there, but it's probably pretty close, like it's in the probably in the top 20

**Al Lavelle** (2:34)
This is this is the I'm telling you, this is the number one mall store for punk ass middle schoolers. I'm talking Spencer's. Give me Spencer.

**Liam Reese** (2:44)
Oh, man, I thought you were going to. So not Spencer's, but the store very close to that on here.

**Burt Pocasey** (2:50)
Yeah, he's talking about Hot Topic.

**Liam Reese** (2:52)
Hot Topic is number one.

**Al Lavelle** (2:55)
Wow.

**Liam Reese** (2:57)
So you got to think everybody, dude. Don't just think about us, golden age of shopping, moms, dads, you know what I mean? All together.

**Al Lavelle** (3:06)
My mom used to love, is JCPenney on there?

**Liam Reese** (3:10)
Oh, JCPenney is not on there. It's like just off the top 10

**Al Lavelle** (3:13)
What about Sears?

**Liam Reese** (3:15)
Sears? No, so there's not department stores on here. There are toy stores.

**Al Lavelle** (3:21)
There are always. What is the one KB Toys?

**Liam Reese** (3:25)
KB Toys is number three, daddy. One of these is still around to two are still around.

**Burt Pocasey** (3:37)
Liam, can I see about lids?

**Liam Reese** (3:41)
Lids is a good one, but it is not on there. Think of like where girls like to shop. Think of Claire's Claire's. Yeah, Claire's is one of them. Claire's is number seven. And there's another one that chicks absolutely love.

**Al Lavelle** (3:59)
Victoria's Secret?

**Liam Reese** (4:01)
No.

**Burt Pocasey** (4:02)
What about the gap?

**Liam Reese** (4:05)
Gaps not on there.

**Burt Pocasey** (4:06)
I feel like Gap was in every mall.

**Al Lavelle** (4:08)
What was the what was the music store?

**Liam Reese** (4:11)
There's a bookstore on there. Oh, there's a music store on there. And it is a good one.

**Burt Pocasey** (4:16)
Either Sam Goody or Tower.

**Liam Reese** (4:18)
Sam Goody, number six, daddy.

**Burt Pocasey** (4:20)
Yeah.

**Al Lavelle** (4:21)
Nice.
What about is my sister used to love? God, it's like unlimited or something.
