Hello, and welcome to the Working Perspectives Podcast Episode 563, Beat the Bros!! I'm Matt Lavelle, coming by the one and only burn poxacy and the most handsome man in town, Liam Rees. Tonight, we got some good stuff for you. First, we're going to be guessing the top 10 movies that have made the most money in the box office, and that's to date.
And then, secondly, Benditi Padalini, he's got a fictional character. Liam and I got 20 questions, but the way it works is that we have two minutes to guess to ask five questions, then we have two minutes to deliberate, then we have two minutes to ask five questions, then we have two minutes to deliberate, and the process repeats until we're able to either figure out the fictional character or burn stumps us and we have to give it to her, or if we have to guess at the end. All right, and then your boy, old Uncle Matty, has got some news stories that I leave the good bits out of, and I asked Ben Didi Padalini and Le Schmigli Liam Rees to guess. It's gonna be a lot of fun, super excited, so let's get this thing started. Let's go.
All right, Le Schmigli, daddy, you got a list for us, and I can't wait to guess it. Give us the deets, daddy-o.

**Liam Rees** (1:23)
All right, guys, I'm gonna need the top 10 most successful movies of all time as of May, 2026, in terms of their global box office revenue. And this is measured in billions of dollars. Okay?

**Matt Lavelle** (1:39)
Holy shit, Ola. All right.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (1:43)
Lea, quick question. All of them over a bill?

**Liam Rees** (1:48)
All of them are over a billion, absolutely.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (1:50)
All right.

**Matt Lavelle** (1:50)
And is this movie just, is this money just made in the box office, or is this like DVD streaming revenue sales?

**Liam Rees** (1:57)
Box office revenue, like worldwide, like ticket sales, I guess you would call it, you know?

**Matt Lavelle** (2:03)
Cool.
Okay. All right. Burn, you want to kick us off, Daddy? I'm hitting the timer. Four minutes. Here we go.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (2:10)
I mean, there was a battle, or the battle was coming out.
I'll take this one. How about Avatar?

**Liam Rees** (2:17)
Avatar is number one, made 2.92 billion dollars worldwide, which is the first Avatar, the first Avatar in 2009, in 2009, still number one. That's absurd.

**Matt Lavelle** (2:33)
Wow. Burn, do you know who I was dating when that movie was in theaters?

**Ben Didi Padalini** (2:38)
Who were you dating?

**Matt Lavelle** (2:40)
You remember Debbie's daughter, Danielle?

**Ben Didi Padalini** (2:43)
I do. I sure do.
You were dating Danielle?

**Matt Lavelle** (2:49)
I sure was.

**Liam Rees** (2:51)
Thanks.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (2:51)
I don't remember that.

**Matt Lavelle** (2:54)
It was official.

**Liam Rees** (2:56)
Wow.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (2:57)
I must have missed that part. I didn't know you guys had ever, I didn't know you put a promise ring on it.

**Matt Lavelle** (3:01)
I promised it up. All right. Let's keep it moving. Okay. Then what about Star Wars?

**Liam Rees** (3:09)
Which one? Just the original Star Wars?

**Matt Lavelle** (3:12)
Let's do any of them.

**Liam Rees** (3:15)
We can't do any of them. That's for sure.

**Matt Lavelle** (3:17)
Okay. Force is Force Awakens on there?

**Liam Rees** (3:21)
Force Awakens is on there. That was in 2015 They made 2.07 billion dollars.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (3:28)
What spot is it in the?

**Liam Rees** (3:30)
Number five.

**Matt Lavelle** (3:32)
Force Awakens.

**Liam Rees** (3:33)
Yeah.

**Matt Lavelle** (3:34)
All right. Go ahead.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (3:36)
The the controversy about Avatar is that I'm going to guess Endgame. And what Avatar did was Endgame came out and was jumping on their tails. And then they re-released Avatar in theaters and in China to goose up their numbers after Endgame because Endgame was about to pass it to be the number one of all time.

**Liam Rees** (3:56)
That's correct. So Avengers Endgame is number two with 2.8 billion dollars.

**Matt Lavelle** (4:02)
Did they really do that?

**Ben Didi Padalini** (4:04)
They did.

**Liam Rees** (4:04)
They sure did.

**Ben Didi Padalini** (4:05)
They sure did.

**Matt Lavelle** (4:05)
Wow. I mean, your boy, you know, get what James Cameron, he was a sneaky son. What number was that, Liam?

**Liam Rees** (4:14)
That was numero dos.

**Matt Lavelle** (4:16)
Damn. All right. What about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part two?

**Liam Rees** (4:21)
That is a no, sir.

**Matt Lavelle** (4:23)
