Hello, everyone, and welcome to Between The Sheets, episode number 562
I'm your host Kris Zellner. I'm joined as also my co-host David Bixenspan. And Bix, full disclosure before we really get into this. As we're recording this, the Braves Dodgers series here is going on. Game four, do or die elimination game. Michael Harris just scored on a wild pitch to go up one nothing. So my concentration may be swayed at times as we record this show.
David Bixenspan (0:50)
Well, it's great that our guest is not invested in that game at all.
Kris Zellner (0:54)
Well, I mean, well, partly, partly, partly. But before we get in all that, we still got a Patreon show to plug.
David Bixenspan (1:01)
Yes.
Kris Zellner (1:02)
So let's go ahead and get that out of the way first. As our latest episode, is this part six that we just did?
David Bixenspan (1:09)
Let me double check. I think that, no, yes, it's part six, sorry.
I was thinking of what did we last release? No, by the time this comes out, yes, part six is the-
Kris Zellner (1:17)
Part six of our look back at 20 years of WWW, ECW, the W version of ECW.
This was an interesting show as we're after the ECW arena debacle where Paul Heyman was basically heckled out of the ring.
Now, we're getting into the major issues that were outside the ring. Kurt Angle being sent home for 30 days due to his issues. Rob Van Damme and Sabu being pulled over for drug possession. Shocker shocks in Ohio. So we have that, how RBD was suspended, how Sabu came out basically unscathed. Shocking as well. And why Vincent Mann was probably the reason for that. We get into Paul Heyman doing the heel turn on television. Getting behind Big Show and Test as they start taking over ECW. CM Punk is about to make his in-ring debut, but he's already doing promos. We got Kelly Kelly doing her same striptease bullshit every damn week. There's a lot of stuff going on.
David Bixenspan (2:33)
Big Dick Johnson in the sand, man.
Kris Zellner (2:37)
Paul Heyman talking to the Lil's boys. We get Bix doing Paul Heyman voice again. Quite the episode that's been released on the Patreon, Bix.
David Bixenspan (2:50)
Yes, patreon.com/between the sheets, $5 a month tier or higher, 16% off if you do annual, which is 50, 40 a year for the $5 a tier. Again, that's patreon.com/between the sheets. And then next week, part seven is a little bit of a calm before the storm. It does include the Hammerstein TV with Punk's debut, among other things.
Kris Zellner (3:14)
And Batista.
David Bixenspan (3:16)
Oh, and Batista versus Big Show, yes, of course. More Kevin Dunn stuff, among other things. More Tommy Dreamer not having power, among other things.
And then the week after, it's going to be Kurt Angle getting fired.
SPEAKER_3 (3:34)
So a lot to come.
Kris Zellner (3:35)
A lot coming up.
David Bixenspan (3:36)
Oh, and the James Beard. There's the James Beard Saga with the Hammerstein tape.
Kris Zellner (3:41)
Yeah, which we talked about in the main show, but we'll have it again here.
David Bixenspan (3:44)
Yes. Our dear Facebook friend, James Beard, yes. But patreon.com/between The Sheets. But like we said last time, we have a special, well, if you've read the title of the show, you know who the guest is.
Kris Zellner (3:57)
Yeah, you know who it is.
David Bixenspan (3:58)
But yes, a first time guest.
Kris Zellner (4:01)
But Bix, listen, the intro this person deserves would be way too long for this show.
David Bixenspan (4:10)
Yes, and the person who would be most appropriate to do it, I thought about asking, but we don't want to get you fired.
Kris Zellner (4:16)
But here's the thing, we'll do a condensed type version of that intro. So today, on Between The Sheets, we have truly one of pro wrestling's greats, weighing in at maybe 233 pounds, I don't know how much you are now, of Cold Filter Fury, the Extreme Horseman, the King of Old School, the King of Kings, the King of Beers, and the fucking God of Pro Wrestling, Steve Corino.
Welcome, Steve.
Steve Corino (4:49)
Hello, 233, I love it. 234, that's what it was this morning at the gym. 234, awesome guess.
Kris Zellner (4:57)
Awesome, awesome.
Steve Corino (4:58)
Yeah. Oh, what an introduction. Way better than that guy that works on Wednesday Nights.
Kris Zellner (5:06)
Well, you know, I wanted to do the classic one, the one where all the names of wrestlers that Bobby would do, but I didn't want this show to go 18 hours.
