Hello, everyone, and welcome to Between The Sheets, episode number 561 I'm Melchior Chris Zellner, joined as always by David Bixenspan. And basically, before we get into the main show this week, we do have a new Patreon show to talk about.
As we have part five of WWECW, where we get into more of the sci-fi shows that's taking place, and we get the ECW Arena show that they ran, which we actually have clips from since they put it up online on The Vault fairly recently, so we have that. And thank god we have that, because there was a lot of entertainment that came from that.
David Bixenspan (0:53)
Yes, mainly the Paul Heyman damage control promo and the fan interviews.
Kris Zellner (0:58)
Yeah, and the reason why that had to happen. And yeah, just all kinds of other stuff. So what were your thoughts on the show?
David Bixenspan (1:05)
I thought it was a very entertaining addition to the Paul and Eddie Cannon, this fourth part.
Fifth. Fifth, excuse me. Yes. So yeah, we got the arena show. We've got, what is it? Weeks two and three of TV?
Kris Zellner (1:23)
Two, three and four.
David Bixenspan (1:24)
Two, three and four.
Kris Zellner (1:25)
OK.
David Bixenspan (1:27)
What else is in there? I'm trying to remember now. I don't have it in front of me.
Kris Zellner (1:32)
I mean, it's just, you know, Jason Powell and the Torch talk about it.
David Bixenspan (1:38)
Oh, his conspiracy theory about if Paul tanked the debut.
Kris Zellner (1:43)
Yeah, whereas very Paul-esque. And a lot of stuff is being said shockingly.
David Bixenspan (1:49)
Oh, it absolutely seems like Paul told him this off the record and he's being creative about it.
Kris Zellner (1:54)
He's got his bullet points that he's going with.
David Bixenspan (1:57)
Yes. Jeff Jarrett's attack, or excuse me, response to Paul's attacks on TNA.
Kris Zellner (2:03)
Yeah. I mean, we really don't have a whole lot there, but it's something that happened, yes.
David Bixenspan (2:08)
Yes.
Why Sabu was the saving grace of WWF, ECW. We talk about that.
Kris Zellner (2:14)
Yeah, which will fall apart immediately as we start the next show.
David Bixenspan (2:18)
Yes. Other creative drama.
Whether or not Atlas Security People actually did work the debut. Macho Libre, Big Dick Johnson.
Kris Zellner (2:34)
Yeah.
David Bixenspan (2:35)
Zandman beating those folks up.
Kris Zellner (2:38)
Mike Knox debuting as Kelly's boyfriend. And, yeah, we got Kevin the Vampire. There's a lot going on. So, $5 a month, in case you're interested in that and more, at patreon.com/between The Sheets. And, yeah, we'll have part six up next week, where we'll get into Kurt Angle basically being sent home. And Rob Van Damme and Sabu being pulled over, and legal issues abound there, which sort of is the beginning of the end of Sabu. And just, yeah, this is when, you know, Vince already called ECW a tainted brand, which we'll talk about in episode five. But episode six is really starting to evolve as we speak here. And times are about to change for some of the ECW people there. So, again, $5.00 on patreon.com/between The Sheets.
All right, Bix, let's get into this show. As we go back to 1988 So, last week was 2008, and now we're in 1998, so we're going back 20 years from last week. And we got to the week of September 28th to October the 4th, and we start off with rumor versus fact. There's a lot of root news on the horizon, but since Dave's been on the road most of the week, which we'll get into as we go along, it's hard to separate the rumors from reality. Rumor.
Lex Luger has left the NWA and is headed for WWF slash Japan. Fact. Luger will soon the NWA's recess this past Sunday night. They have Monday off and will resume with television tapings tonight as Dave's typing this. And although he's making noises about wanting some sort of show of good faith for the new organization and threats, Dave's sure have been made, he's still in the NWA.
All right, Steve Beverly and Matt Watch, which kind of covers the first day or two of our week, had floated out there that Luger was upset and was wanting to leave. And then the next issue of Matt Watch, he said, I was wrong.
He said that, he said that that's not true. It's just rumor, it's not true.
David Bixenspan (5:02)
At this point, when they're talking about rumors, what are we talking about? Hotline bullshit, things people are calling them about?
