Hello, everyone, and welcome to Between The Sheets, episode number 560 I'm your host, Kris Zellner. I'm Jordan Zollz, my co-host, David Bixenspan and Bix.
We've been talking about this last week, that it seems like between last week and this week, we have the longest distance between years of doing episodes, back to back episodes of this show. So we definitely have a whole lot of different things to talk about on this week show compared to last week.
David Bixenspan (0:45)
You're saying we're not talking about Ishin Gundan or Jack Reynolds?
Kris Zellner (0:50)
No, or a coked out Randy Savage either. But yeah, we'll go from Pro Wrestling USA to Ishin Gundan being compared to Dirty Dog, was it Raccoon Dogs?
David Bixenspan (1:09)
Yes, Tanookis.
Kris Zellner (1:12)
Coked out Macho Man, Master G to Ring of Honor.
David Bixenspan (1:19)
Oh, we also had Burt Prentice and the Dakotas too.
Kris Zellner (1:22)
And the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup, and guys like Kenny Omega.
So, yes, let's go to the week of 2008 We go September 22nd to 28th. But before we get into that, because we do have to talk about Patreon. So, I've got a little ahead of myself here. As part four of our latest Patreon series has dropped, the WWECW 20-year retrospective we're working on right now. And now we have started talking about sci-fi, or as Dave Meltzer calls it, the sci-fi network. And we cover the first show. So that means the zombie, and Kelly, excuse me, Kelly, not yet Kelly Kelly, but Kelly.
David Bixenspan (2:10)
Yes, it's like how last week Jack Tunney was still WWF vice president.
Kris Zellner (2:16)
But Kelly, making her debut in one of the most awkward strip routines you'll ever see in your life.
David Bixenspan (2:22)
Because she's unable to remove her, well, unhook her bra, I should say.
Kris Zellner (2:26)
Yes, and we get into big show squashing everybody basically.
And just all that type of stuff that was on this show. But we also have, we have still a lot of stuff coming from the newsletters about One Night Stand, even head to head, how Vince McMahon felt about everything. We have the blowback from the sci-fi show, from the wrestling side and TV side, which is completely different. And we get a amazing Paul Heyman interview with Scott Fishman of the Miami Herald. Where Bix did the Paul Heyman voice for all of Paul Heyman's wacky ass quotes he had there. Boy, he has some doozies.
David Bixenspan (3:09)
Yes. And, you know, it'll be edited in a way where you don't know about this. Although I do think I mentioned at the end of the show.
But my boss called as we were doing that. And I actually had to take a few seconds as the phone was ringing to just kind of ready myself to make sure I didn't answer the phone. Hello there, sir.
Kris Zellner (3:31)
Hi. Dan Abrams called you, Bix?
David Bixenspan (3:34)
I have not worked for Dan Abrams in over nine years.
Kris Zellner (3:38)
Gino called you Bix?
David Bixenspan (3:41)
Who?
Kris Zellner (3:42)
Kasey Seitz.
David Bixenspan (3:44)
I never worked for him. He worked for me.
Kris Zellner (3:46)
Well, whatever. Raj Giri called Bix?
David Bixenspan (3:50)
I fucking hope not.
Kris Zellner (3:53)
Bryan Abrams called you Bix?
David Bixenspan (3:57)
No.
Kris Zellner (4:00)
Look up to all your ex-bosses here. Because you've worked for a lot of people over the years. But anyway.
David Bixenspan (4:06)
I mean, that's a really good answer. What do you expect? What did Mike Shalik call?
Between The Sheets patron, Mike Shalik?
Kris Zellner (4:14)
Yeah.
But anyway. Everybody go check that out. Follow us on Facebook, patreon.com, slash, Between The Sheets. And we'll get into on the next episode. We'll continue on with more sci-fi and all kinds of other wild and wacky stuff. The ECW Arena house shows. We have some great stuff going up in this series. We'll finally get out of the month of June.
SPEAKER_5 (4:37)
Yes.
David Bixenspan (4:37)
Well, it gets a lot less dense once we're out of June.
SPEAKER_5 (4:40)
Yeah.
David Bixenspan (4:42)
I think you need to adjust the boom on your heads a little because your voice is not sounding buttery enough.
Kris Zellner (4:47)
What about now?
David Bixenspan (4:48)
Much better.
Kris Zellner (4:49)
All right. Anyway, let's go to the week of September 22nd, after 2008 And we start with Ring of Honor.
The overriding theme of almost any Ring of Honor pay-per-view event is that the fans are rabid and the wrestlers work harder than any other promotion.
