Hello everyone, and welcome to Between The Sheets, episode number 559

I'm your host Kris Zellner, joined as always by my co-host David Bixenspan. And Bix, you got a new computer, as we do this week's show. So if you sound more clearer to everyone and all that, that is why.

David Bixenspan (0:35)

That's part of it, yeah. Now you're not going to be doing an NFL giraffe this weekend, this week, are you?

Kris Zellner (0:43)

No, it's already started. I got my ass kicked in week one. And I mean, for various reasons, but that's all right.

This is a marathon, not a sprint. So as long as I get in the playoffs, that's all I care about.

SPEAKER_3 (0:56)

Okay, good.

David Bixenspan (0:57)

Good. Joe Spostel will be very happy.

Kris Zellner (1:03)

Is it that it came through that loud?

SPEAKER_4 (1:05)

Oh, I could hear it. So wow.

David Bixenspan (1:10)

12:46 PM. What was that noise during the ECW slash Indie section during the show this week? Me? Question mark. It sounds like a video casino thing. Am I hallucinating? And he sent me a screen recording. And then I explained and was like, oh, no, it'll be explained on the audio in a minute.

Kris Zellner (1:28)

Well, I apologize for all that. For people that may have been dismayed by the sounds of Yahoo's fantasy football draft room.

Just think of it like the Sonic the Hedgehog or something. You hit all the rings.

David Bixenspan (1:44)

But no, I thought it was like I said, I thought it sounded like the Street Fighter 2 insert coin sound, which I actually just pulled up. So let's see if it sounds like that. Uh, wait. Here we go. Is this the right one? No, that's not it. Let's see, we got Street Fighter 2 booting up. It says arcade insert coin. I'm sure it's...

No, there's either just a letting it idle on there, or are they? Let's see.

Yeah, come on. No, I want to hear the sound that we were talking about.

SPEAKER_5 (2:38)

You're dying here.

Kris Zellner (2:41)

So anyway, I mean... Oh, here we go.

David Bixenspan (2:43)

Here's the right one.

Kris Zellner (2:44)

Okay.

David Bixenspan (2:45)

There we go.

Kris Zellner (2:48)

Okay, kind of. It's like Sonic and the Rings, too.

I was so close to having bat to bat picks, you know? That's why it was so... When it would happen, it would happen bam bam, and that would be a distance between it happening again. So it is what it is. So there you go. But we have a new Patreon show to talk about.

David Bixenspan (3:13)

Yes.

Kris Zellner (3:13)

Part...

David Bixenspan (3:14)

What was this? Three?

Kris Zellner (3:16)

Three. Yeah. Part three of our look at WWCW from 2006

And on this show, we really start getting into the meat here as we go into the raw before the head-to-head show, then we get to the head-to-head show, and then we do One Night Stand. And it's just, you can hear us on the air, me especially, just talk about why are we doing this? That's basically my theme for this. Why are we doing this? Because, I mean, the first One Night Stand was what it was, and it's talked about during the show as being what felt like the proper send-off for ECW. Everybody was happy, everybody got to do their farewell, and then you come back a year later into a totally different thing where it's ECW in name only, and everything else is WWE. And we get into all that, where we talk about who's involved behind the scenes, Vince McMahon being fully in charge of everything. Even people like Pat Patterson being used as agents for stuff on the TV during the show.

We talk about the total lack of respect for the ECW talent in every facet of the shows. We get into the announcing of war that was on head to head between Joey Styles and Taz against Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler with Vince McMahon being the puppet master on everything. Just wanted to get his shots in at Jim Ross, Shocker Shocks. We get into John Cena being Superman in this whole thing, and basically Vince not wanting to show any sign of weakness with the WWE. I mean, it's basically the invasion of WCW all over again.

That's basically the going theme of this show, is all that. And everything that went into it. So we did the first couple of weeks, which was all the preamble and everything that was building up to it, and now we're here. And this show is definitely going to take us to the places that we were wanting to get to.
