Hello, everyone, and welcome to Between The Sheets, episode number 558 I'm Kris Zellner, joined as always by Koestin Bixenspan. The Bixenspan got an interesting show this week, as we got Fall Brawl 98, which we've never talked about in this show yet, which is crazy to think about.

We got a Saturday Night Raw because of the US Open, but we got quite the topic to lead off this show. We'll get into that in a minute, but first off, how are you doing today?

David Bixenspan (0:44)

I'm doing okay. Bit of a somber week in pro wrestling, but I guess we'll talk more about that during halftime.

Kris Zellner (0:52)

Yeah, I mean, man, since we've last recorded, I mean, Jerry Oates, Superstar Bill Dundee, Andy Williams and then Cody's Dolph Aro. I mean, yeah, just, yeah, it's just a sad weekend, a holiday weekend as far as deaths involving people in pro wrestling. And yeah, like I said, we'll talk more about that during halftime. And yeah, it's just, you just never know, especially in Andy Williams' case, you never know. I mean, Superstar Bill Dundee, we can't, you know, even though he made it to Paris the day before he died, I mean, it's just, you just, we knew that he was not doing good for a while, at least we did.

But, Andy Williams, that's just a tragedy. And we'll definitely get into that during half time, for sure. All right, well, let's get started on this week's show.

SPEAKER_3 (1:56)

As we go back to the week of-

Kris Zellner (1:57)

Well, Patreon.

Oh, of course, sorry. patreon.com/between The Sheets. Yes, let's talk about that real quick, as we've done part two now of our, who knows how many parts, of our look back in 2006 at WWF, ECW.

David Bixenspan (2:16)

At least we got through the end of May.

Kris Zellner (2:18)

Yeah, we thought maybe we might get on the pay-per-view on this show, but no, that didn't happen. But we didn't make it through the end of May.

Yeah, lots going on. As they're trying to get ready. I mean, this focuses on the TV deal basically, finally getting done. After Dave Mouser basically reported it was a done deal before it was a done deal.

David Bixenspan (2:44)

Well, before Dave even meant to report it was a done deal.

Kris Zellner (2:47)

Yeah, Dave reporting an off-the-record conversation that we presume was off the record, but somehow made us win to The Observer. But yeah, so we get the ECW sci-fi deal getting made and what all that meant. And again, more on the logistics. How shows, the house show schedule, when they're going to take TV and how that changed from the original sci-fi plan.

The synergy between sci-fi and ECW, which would definitely get into that more once it starts up.

And of course, all the stuff that you come to expect on these types of shows, trying to figure out who was talking to whom as far as the newsletters and some are blatantly obvious. And the thoughts on Tommy Dreamer, even before the project gets really started, his power is already being diminished. And what happens with OVW, with Paul Heyman going to the new ECW. So there's a lot going on. A continuation of the first show and next week, we will definitely get into the in-ring action, as we'll have the head-to-head special. And then I'm pretty sure we will get into the pay-per-view.

David Bixenspan (4:04)

The pay-per-view and potentially, probably I would think the first TV as well.

Kris Zellner (4:09)

Yeah, we hope. Just don't know, because all this stuff can be pretty dense at times. But still, you know, really, really good show. They could set everything up. As we continue this series here, patreon.com/20sheets. At $5 a month gets you access to that and more. At patreon.com/between The Sheets. So, everybody go check that out. And we will, we have all the shows coming up. You know, all the shows we've done in the past. So it's a lot of content there for that $5. So everybody check it out. And of course, annual, if you want to do that, it's even better. You can go $50.40 for the year, it saves 16%.

So a nice little savings there. So patreon.com/between The Sheets. More on that later in the show.

Now, let's go to the week of September 8th to the 13th of 1998 As we guess we are off one day, as we are fitting this into the previous shows that we've done. And we start with an interesting topic here. As during our week, and we talked about a couple of these before on the show, in the week after this week that we've done.
