Hello, everyone, and welcome to Between The Sheets, episode number 557 I'm your host Kris Zellner. Joined as always by David Bixenspan and Bix, we're back to the 80s this week for a fun little show here.

David Bixenspan (0:27)

Yes, yes, this looks like fun. I always like doing the year we're doing here.

Kris Zellner (0:32)

Yeah, we got a good bit of Matwatch on this show too, so that's going to make it even extra spicy.

David Bixenspan (0:39)

Yeah, and we got a guest who loves his bat botch too, but before we introduce him, we need to talk about our new Patreon show.

Kris Zellner (0:46)

Yes, we do.

We started a new series. We have no idea how long it's going to go. But it's something that the patrons have been requesting for a while now, and we're finally going to give it to them. It's just we're going to go back 20 years for the history of WWECW.

David Bixenspan (1:06)

Basically going from the conception through the fallout from December to... December to December, I should say, is the play.

Kris Zellner (1:14)

Yeah, so we're not doing like fucking 2008 ECWs or shit like that. We're doing the memorable run, basically.

SPEAKER_3 (1:24)

The Heyman stuff.

Kris Zellner (1:25)

Yes. Because this is basically another excuse for us to do a Heyman show. And so part one, we get into basically just two complete weeks. Although we started the show four years earlier.

For some of 2002, where this was kind of talked about, where Dave Meltzer in The Observer basically laid out everything that was going to happen with an ECW relaunch four years before it happened. So we'll have all that, then we'll get into 2006 The whys, the wheres, the hows, and this is going to happen. This man, just being a complete maniac, just pulling shit out of his ass.

David Bixenspan (2:07)

Just deciding on a flight to Europe that he's going to do an ECW revival.

Kris Zellner (2:11)

But there are reasons why it's in his mind and we get into all that.

David Bixenspan (2:17)

What are those reasons?

Kris Zellner (2:20)

And then we get to the talent roster, who's going to be part of that, who they want, who they don't want, what kind of schedule they'll be on, TV, will they take TV with the other shows, are they going to take a stand-alone TV?

David Bixenspan (2:35)

This first part, by the way, only covers the first two weeks of the story, basically.

Kris Zellner (2:40)

It's 70 pages long.

David Bixenspan (2:41)

Yes.

Kris Zellner (2:42)

But we got a lot of logistic stuff and just planning and getting into all that. And of course, the second show, which will be next week, will get into the live special, that predates one-night stand, and then we'll have one-night stand, possibly in there, I would think. We'll see. Because Big Daddy doesn't know yet. But see how we get into that. But yes, a lot of interesting stuff. And yes, there is a lot of Paul Heyman talking to people in this as well.

David Bixenspan (3:12)

And a lot of Wade Keller, Wade Kellering about certain things in ways that are unclear whether or not anyone actually told him about them.

Kris Zellner (3:19)

Or if he's fantasy booking, yes. So, but I was going to get you to ask this and that more at patreon.com/between The Sheets.

David Bixenspan (3:27)

And if you want to do the annual subscription, that gets you 16% off for 50-40 a year. But...

Kris Zellner (3:37)

Yeah, so we'll have more on that during halftime. Yes. Check that out there.

David Bixenspan (3:41)

But like I said, we have a guest. He's retired from podcasting because according to sources close to Britt Baker, he was offered a pay cut in excess of 50% that he did not wish to take.

Kris Zellner (3:57)

Yeah, we... It is... You sent me early this morning as a record this, Sean's tweet from FIFL about sources close to Britt Breaker. And yes, we have entered that once again.

The world of this, Terry Taylor, Paul Heyman, Britt Baker, Charles Ashenoff, Cone Hackers, Jericho, yeah, we're back.

David Bixenspan (4:22)

But no, we are not joined by the bone collector, Dominic Gurrini, this week.

He doesn't have a podcast and did not have a podcast. Instead, we are joined by one half of the late lamented Mike and JD show, the one who thankfully does not have an unhealthy attachment to TNA Wrestling, and that is JD.

J.D. Oliva (4:43)

Oliva.

Kris Zellner (4:46)

Yeah, welcome back, JD.

J.D. Oliva (4:48)

Thank you guys so much. This is the first podcast I've probably been on since, I want to say, April. I think it's been that long. So yeah, that's it's been nice not to have to acknowledge the existence of total nonstop action.
