Hello, everyone, and welcome to Between The Sheets, episode number 554 I'm your host, Kris Zellner. Joined as always by my co-host, David Bixenspan, and Bix 2000 showed this week. Although, the new way we are doing these shows is a whole lot less page count than it probably would have been if we were doing the old way.
Because, I mean, there were so many results that would have made it in the old show that this would have easily probably been 10 more pages if I'd included the results that I would have normally included over the past years.

Do we at least have our soda, pop, Ronnie, Zuko results?

Nothing from that week and that's neck of the woods, no picks. I'm sorry to say.
I'm sorry to say. I mean, it's just, there wasn't really much anything of note. I mean, that stands out as far as what you would want included in this, is what that was.

**David Bixenspan** (1:17)
Okay.

But we got a lot of other stuff. As later on, we'll be talking about TNA pay-per-view, and we got a nice healthy WWE section here.

And we got the end of the summer of Punk later on in Indies too.

Yeah. So let's go ahead and get started with WWE here in the week of August 10th through the 16th of 2005

**David Bixenspan** (1:42)
21 years ago, they were going to be talking about the custody of Dominik Mysterio.

**Kris Zellner** (1:49)
That's right. That's something that I didn't even bring up in the preview of this show. That was something that was going on.

**David Bixenspan** (1:54)
Yeah. When I was opening up the SmackDown file, I was like, oh, as I got to the beginning of the show with the coming up tonight graphics.

**Kris Zellner** (2:03)

Let's get into it before we get into the television. Now, we got some other things going on. Not big major news, but we've got some things. As lame duck tenants, so to speak, the relationship between Spike TV and WWE has turned very cold of late.

**David Bixenspan** (2:22)
Sounds like me with some of my past landlords, continue. I don't think Spike is run by facetim though.

**Kris Zellner** (2:30)
Spike people expressed their dissatisfaction on a number of issues when they met with TNA officials this week. Amongst specifics was Vince McMahon apparently going nuts about the UFC commercial that implies wrestling is not being real.
That was being played so often during WWE programming.

**David Bixenspan** (2:44)
This may sound familiar if you're a patron, by the way.

**Kris Zellner** (2:47)
Yeah. Spike made a new version of the commercial that only implies that boxing isn't real anymore. It makes no mention of wrestling, which aired all through both RAW and SmackDown over the past week plus. 12th of a fighter debuted on August 22nd. Vince only insisted during his wrestling shows they can't run the commercial saying wrestling isn't real. This is hilarious because they spent the last several years insisting that wrestling isn't real. And now they get all worked up because someone else says it. UFC and Spike are still airing the commercial saying wrestling isn't real, but could a new version just for WWE programming.
Which is funny because, I mean, they got a shirt now that says wrestling is real on it. I mean, that's a shirt they're marketing. So, yeah, it's one of those things where you can say it, but you don't want somebody else saying it, you know? It's that type of deal. So, I get it, but, I mean, this is just more fuel to the fire of WWE and Spike TV here.
And Spike's already meeting with TNA officials. So, what's that say?

No, we're in, wait, we're in August. I think they've already been announced, haven't they?

**Kris Zellner** (4:06)
That's right. Yeah. Yeah, you're right. So, yeah, so they're dead. I mean, lame duck. So, it's just...
They don't give a shit. But if I'm TNA, and, you know, I'm about to be on your channel and you're saying, Russell, is it real? Okay.

**David Bixenspan** (4:24)
They're probably the ones that should be most offended.

**Kris Zellner** (4:27)
Yeah. But it's TNA, so they probably don't give a shit either. So, well, 2005, what's Vince Russo's status in the company?

**David Bixenspan** (4:37)
Hell if I know.

**Kris Zellner** (4:39)
Because again, you have to, he's been there so much, so many different times. But yes, there are gaps.
