Everything I do is really around empowering women. So I want women to be smarter, richer, have the financial freedom to live a shitty relationship. That is the driving factor.

Ellie, welcome to The Expanded Podcast. We're so excited to have you.
Ellie De Witt (0:25)
I'm so excited to be here. Thank you for having me on. I'm really excited to dive into it today.
Jessica Gill (0:30)
Okay. So for people who don't know you, where are you from? Give us a little bit of your cultural background and upbringing.
Ellie De Witt (0:39)
Oh, that's such a good question straight away. So I am Ellie. I'm from Amsterdam or the Netherlands. I grew up actually in a village in the middle or the north of the Netherlands. And I come from a very stable and loving family, all in education, almost all of them. So very much like teachers in my environment, whereas I really wanted to be a big founder and build a big business. So I'm sure we'll get to that, but like that was a very interesting, in a sense, like upbringing, like looking for more models and expander, right? So we'll definitely talk about that. Very loving family, very much village life, safe upbringing. But I really wanted more. I wanted to be in the city. I wanted to move abroad. I wanted to explore. And I didn't really have a lot of that. So very safe, very boring as well. That's how it felt for me.
Jessica Gill (1:26)
Are there elements now, because now you've manifested so much in the business world, living in big cities, traveling, all of these beautiful things. Are there elements of your childhood that you feel like you get comfort in or bringing back into your world now that you've gone and manifested the other things too? Because I find there's like little things from my childhood, like grounds that was in my grandma's house and just having like trails in the woods behind. I'm like, oh, I love going on vacation where there's woods. There's just like these little tiny elements from childhood that may have felt comforting at the time that you can start to like weave back into your life today.
Ellie De Witt (2:03)
I love that question. I think the safety, as I mentioned, like it was such a safe upbringing. I think that is really, really helpful. And also I'm the youngest of three. I spent quite some time even like just playing like in my own room. Like we didn't have iPads at the time that we were constantly entertained, right? I was just playing whatever like whatever I came up with really. And so the being by myself and being able to entertain myself or like self-soothe or like, you know, be just alone is something that I think really, really helped me also later in life. Also when moving abroad and like discovering new countries and new places.
Yeah. So I think that was a really big one. And I think my upbringing, my parents are quite religious and I have a lot of views about that. But one of the things that I did find very beautiful about that upbringing is that the idea of like always be there for other people as well. And so even though they really supported me and my goal of like wanting to make a lot of money, like, you know, like really growing a big business, the idea of like really doing something that helps other people as well is so important and so ingrained in my upbringing as well that I feel like that has really shaped like the way that I think about things.

What is your what's your big three in astrology?
Ellie De Witt (3:12)
Oh, I actually so I'm a Virgo. So my birthday was two days ago, actually. Oh, happy birthday.
I actually don't know this. So I'm a well, I've just I'm just this is actually cool to dive into as well. I have the least Woo Woo background ever. I was so like not manifesting. I was so not into any of this up until I would say three years ago. And I feel like I am more and more. So then I guess I got pulled into it through like EMDR therapy. So I was like, oh, this actually works. And I was like, there's neuroscience behind it. So this actually works. And now I feel like I'm more and more and more just going into the trusting the universe surrounding myself with people who are asking me these questions, which I don't even know. I don't know my human design. I don't know what time I was born. I don't even know these things.
