Hey, friends, welcome to Pebbles. This is your Daily Devotional with Big Truths for Little Hearts, brought to you by Raising Rock.

Today's character focus is perseverance. Philippians 3.13, Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.

Have you ever made a mistake and you just can't stop thinking about it? Maybe you missed that super easy basketball shot. Maybe you forgot your lines in a school play, or maybe you said something you wished you had never said. Sometimes when we mess up, we keep thinking about it over and over again. A football quarterback once made a big mistake during an important game. Right before his team was about to win, he missed the snap and the other team got the ball, and he felt terrible. But do you know who helped him feel better? His eight-year-old daughter. She looked at her dad and simply said, Dad, just let it go. What wise words. We all make mistakes. We all have things we wish we could do over. But if we spend all our time looking backward, we won't be ready for all the good things that God has waiting ahead for us. That doesn't mean we pretend our mistakes never happened. We can learn from them. We can grow because of them. Then with Jesus' help, we can get back up, keep trying, and keep moving forward. So remember this. Everyone makes mistakes, but don't let yesterday's mistakes steal today's opportunities or all the joy God has for you today.

The next time you make a mistake, what do you think Jesus would want you to remember so that you can keep moving forward?

Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me every single day. When I make mistakes, help me learn from them instead of getting stuck thinking about them. Give me the courage to keep trying and to always trust you in both the good times and the challenging times. Thank you for always caring about me and never giving up on me.

May the Lord bless you and keep you today and always. Until next time, be a rock and choose respect, obedience, courage, and kindness.
