Ep:235 Bigfoot Ambush at Fort Hood

We're in the area where we found the knuckle track a few months before, and Chris crawls out, I have eye shine. From our angles, just right about chest height, you know, looking back, we didn't realize that we were on a slope, and we're at the top of the incline, and this thing was down at the bottom of the incline. And it was honestly 80, 20 feet away, and it was huge. I mean, the eyes looked like they were two inches in diameter, they were spread apart, and this thing was just huge. And Chris like, I got eye shine, and I'm like, whoa.

And as soon as I looked at it, it moved in a straight line from left to right. It didn't bob, it didn't weave, it's just a straight line. It dropped down to about a little lower than waist height on us. And when it did that, it blinked. And I'm not gonna lie, Matt, as soon as it blinked, I mean, I took a step back, I was going, okay, you're real. I mean, this isn't like you're looking at fireflies, this isn't like you're looking at anything. There's no deer, they'll move their head, you know what I mean? Stuff like that. I mean, animals will do that, this thing blinked at me, but everything it did was in a straight, perfect, smooth line. So when I take a step back, is when it moved to the right again in a straight line. And when it started moving, I started walking towards it, it dropped down low at this point. And I mean, like onto the ground, it gets, so imagine these two giant eyes, and I shine just staring at you, and I'm walking up towards it.

And as soon as I got within maybe five feet, it's eyes closed and was gone.

I guess so, yeah, it's funny, too. The drunken cryptids name is more of a name than it is a lifestyle.

Yeah, it's, you know, I'm gonna do the research and everything out there. I'm definitely not sure. That's how people get shot. And so I'm trying to...

It has happened. It has happened in Arkansas as well. I'll tell you that.

Yeah.

Man. So I've known about you, obviously, from the internet, for a little while now. And then I had a guest on the show that you've actually met up with and I guess researched their property. And they were like, oh, you gotta talk to Matthew. You gotta talk to Matthew. But yeah, so here we are. Just take us through it, man. How did this all get started for you?

Matthew Orton (3:25)

Oh, man. Okay. Yeah. Thanks. And this is, yeah. And I know the property you're talking about, and they are, they are such a great couple. They really are. And if you ever get a chance to meet them in person, yeah, they treat you like your family. And was truly lucky. They, I have a research Chris and, you know, he found their story on Facebook and he sent it to me. And I was like, all right. I said, well, you know, I read it. And so I said, hey, I've already mentioned them. And it seems to be willing to come on the show and talk. And while we were talking for their interview for my show, you got brought up of having us come up and check it out, take it to the podcast. I mean, Chris was like, yeah, definitely. Well, Chris wasn't able to go. So Jacob, who's my research partner, is mainly in the woods with me all the time.

We went up there and met with him. And the first visit up there was actually kind of surreal. We got lucky.

Right off the bat, we got growled at. And that growl very easily could have been a bobcat. So I can't say whether or not what it was, because it's about 11 o'clock in the morning, and he's showing me around the property, and all of a sudden from the wood line, I get two growls. And I was like, you got to be kidding me.
