Okay, on to topic number one. Apple recently had their September event that they always have, where they show off the newest iPhones and usually Apple watches, Airpods, if they have things to offer.

And, which has been rumored for quite some time and, you know, with quite some certainty recently, is Apple debuting their new phone, their new folding phone, their first folding phone, the iPhone Duo. Now, there's been rumors, speculation in our last podcast, we talked about it. And I'd say we were pretty like, I don't know, 85 to 90% accurate with what actually came out. And I'd like to point out that in the last episode, I think I said this, that because everyone was saying that it was going to be called the iPhone Ultra, that made me know that it wasn't going to be called the iPhone Ultra. And they didn't call it that, they called it the iPhone Duo. I guess Duo, two screens, you know, RIP Surface Duo. But two screens, passport style foldable, similar to what Samsung released with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Similar to that device.

The outer screen, it's a 5.4 inch screen, which apparently gives you about 90% of the screen area of an iPhone 18 Pro. And the inner screen, when you unfold it, is a 7.6 inch screen, which apparently gives you 50% larger screen area than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. So it's both a little bit smaller than the 18 Pro and a little bit bigger than the Pro Max.

Now apparently the hinge that they've developed is made up of 100 different pieces, and they 3D scan and use AI to help make sure it's the perfect support underneath the screen.

And they have released a phone, or fold-in phone, where the crease is essentially invisible, it's essentially gone. Now they also have this special matte finish, their nano texture, which isn't just a basic matte finish, but their nano texture and they have multiple layers of the screen that kind of slide back and forth together to help remove the visibility, or reduce the visibility of the crease that is there. Now, if you move your finger over it and you're really looking for the crease, you can find it, but for their first fold-in phone, they've essentially made a creaseless display, which is kudos to Apple. I haven't seen it yet in person, but from what everyone is saying, it's a very impressive feat. Now, it has cameras on the back, dual 48-megapixel cameras. I think it's a wide and an ultra-wide, no telephoto. They have a 12-megapixel selfie camera on the front. And as we talked about last week, it was a hole-punch camera. I was actually surprised. There was a hole-punch to the side, and we could maybe get into that a little bit later on, but it's a hole-punch camera in the corner. And on the inner screen, when you open it up, the 7.6-inch screen, it's an under-display FaceTime camera. I think this is also something that we brought up last week, which I didn't think that they would do, because, you know, under-display cameras haven't had the best quality in the past. And I've heard kind of mixed reviews. Some people said it's not too bad. Marquez isn't happy with the quality of it. So once reviewers actually get their hands on it, and they get to test it, and they get to take their own FaceTime calls with it, then we'll really see how well Samsung, not Samsung, how well Apple has done with their under-display selfie camera. But, hole-punch camera on the front, under-display camera on the inside, and this phone, along with Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, has a A20 processor. Now, just like the M6 that came out, this is Apple's first two nanometer chip, but for a phone, instead of for a laptop, desktop, what have you, it is 20% faster CPU-wise than the A19 Pro. It is 40% faster GPU-wise than the A19 Pro. It has 50% more memory bandwidth and two times faster neural engine. Now, just like the M6, they went and doubled the amount of neural engine cores. So if you double it, it would be twice as fast.

Now, one interesting thing about this iPhone Duo, there were rumors talking about Apple Pencil support and how it was and how it wasn't coming. But in the keynote, they did mention that you will be able to use the iPhone Pencil USB-C edition with the iPhone Duo on both the outer screen and the inner screen. But that's a feature that's coming later. So, not coming right at lunch, coming later on down the line.
