The Only Podcast.
Hey team, welcome back to the movies. Summer 2026, the box office is having its strongest showing in years.
**Ryan** (0:34)
Wow.
**Scott** (0:35)
With major releases such as Toy Story 5, helping fuel the rebound, up until Supergirl came out this past weekend, and everyone seems to hate it, and it's not really making any money at all. I haven't seen it yet.
Are we gonna see this as a team?
**Mike** (0:52)
No, I don't think so.
**Ryan** (0:54)
No.
**Mike** (0:54)
I'm not even remotely interested.
**Ryan** (0:55)
Jack and Monty are going.
**Scott** (0:57)
Are they?
**Ryan** (0:57)
That's what I hear, yeah. I'm gonna be with them at some point. So guys, pick a different one when I'm out there. Nazi and Supergirl.
**Mike** (1:04)
When are you going to Colorado?
**Ryan** (1:05)
The 10th.
**Mike** (1:06)
What comes out that weekend?
**Ryan** (1:08)
I don't know, but we go to the movies whenever I go. I think we went three times once, which is even funnier to be like that.
**Scott** (1:14)
They're seeing stuff.
**Mike** (1:15)
Oh yeah.
**Scott** (1:15)
I was texting with Flan yesterday. He saw He-Man the other day, and I'm really proud of him for getting out there.
**Ryan** (1:20)
Yeah, they go to the movies a decent amount, and I think they're both open to a solo feature as well. So for that, we salute you.
**Mike** (1:27)
You know, July 10th is the live action Moana.
**Ryan** (1:29)
Oh, that wiggy wig.
**Scott** (1:32)
Wiggity-wiggity-wig. I will see that in the theater with you guys, if you want to do that.
**Mike** (1:38)
Moana?
**Scott** (1:38)
Yeah.
**Mike** (1:39)
No.
**Ryan** (1:39)
Nice sing-along.
**Scott** (1:40)
Like for a goof.
**Ryan** (1:41)
Yeah.
**Scott** (1:42)
We could like get laugh at the wig.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:43)
It's a joke.
**Scott** (1:44)
Yeah.
**Mike** (1:45)
I'd rather see Young Washington.
**Ryan** (1:46)
Oh, Young Washington.
**Scott** (1:48)
That would also be seeing.
**Ryan** (1:49)
It's actually quite a Sophie's choice of a terrible afternoon, whether I want to see Young Washington or Moana, the live-action remake featuring The Rock.
**Mike** (1:56)
Friend of the show, Kelsey Grammer was in DC, seeing Young Washington with the president.
**Scott** (2:00)
Oh.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:00)
Oh, good heavens.
**Scott** (2:02)
I loved it. I thought it wasn't boring at all. I thought it was completely.
**Mike** (2:07)
For those of you who are listening who don't know, Kelsey Grammer looks like my father.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:11)
I double the size of it, you dumb person.
**Scott** (2:15)
I think I've told the fans about how AMC, I'm a Stubbs A-lister just for anyone unaware.
They do a thing every Monday where they'll have a screen unseen and they screen a mystery movie. It's like a fun thing.
**Mike** (2:30)
But you're not getting like the Odyssey two weeks in advance.
**Scott** (2:33)
No, but I have seen a lot of good stuff there. I saw The Furious, that excellent martial arts movie that I recommend a couple of weeks ago. Don't owe it. It was very good.
And Nirvana, the band, the show, the movie.
**Mike** (2:44)
I'd like to see that.
**Scott** (2:44)
Which was excellent as well.
Like sometimes you see a real good movie, but what they did this past Monday is screen Young Washington. And I was going to go again as a bit, but it just didn't end up happening.
**Ryan** (2:58)
I don't know if I could sit through that. It's like the story, it's an origin story for the former president.
**Scott** (3:04)
Yeah, like history, as we'll talk about later in the program with the new LD history sketch show, like a movie's got to be real good if it's going to be all historical and set hundreds of years ago.
**Mike** (3:18)
Well, most of them are.
**Ryan** (3:19)
Oh, you think so, Mike? Mike, for those at home, Mike, aka Codpiece, is a huge history guy.
**Mike** (3:26)
Big history buff.
**Scott** (3:27)
History can, it puts me to bed. And like I've tried the John Adams series, which we'll discuss more in-depth in a future episode when we're gonna have Dan on the program. Can't wait to have a show down with Cod about who loves John Adams more.
But yeah, like Young Washington, I would see it just to tell you guys how bad it is and to laugh about it. I wouldn't like enjoy the experience of watching it. I don't believe.
**Ryan** (3:53)
I get that. That makes sense. Speaking while we're in the history corner, did you hear this? I read from a trusted source on Instagram that JD. Vance contracted rabies and is dead.
