That's right, because you can't imagine Stanton on first base in a close game, and them not pinch running for him, which is why he's only getting one at bat. He ain't getting another at bat more than that.

Chris McMonigle (0:13)

That's why I love you, man, you're so funny.

Craig Carton (0:17)

You think the Yankees close it out tonight, or are you looking for a game three?

Chris McMonigle (0:21)

What's your prediction? I do, I think it's over. I think the Yankees bullpen is lined up. They rested their guy. I just think they got a huge advantage. Boston, believe it or not, losing a couple of their players with injuries. Contreras doesn't look the same. Roman Anthony is going to be out. They're trying to decide if he's even going to be on the roster anymore.

And then, I can't even think of his last name, but Mickey who put on a show earlier in the year, and he got injured, so to me, yeah, Gasper, Mickey Gasper.

Craig Carton (0:54)

Eduardo Perez just sat down next to us, and I think he wants to bust your balls.

Eduardo Perez (0:59)

No, he's my mentor, man. I'm telling you right now, what I'm doing is I'm making my flight arrangements right now.

Craig Carton (1:04)

For where?

Eduardo Perez (1:05)

Back to Miami because Harold said, this series is over tonight, so tomorrow morning, I'm going to Miami before heading to Tampa.

Craig Carton (1:13)

You're trying to get out of New York City that fast?

Eduardo Perez (1:15)

I'm listening to Harold.

Craig Carton (1:16)

Do we not treat too well in New York?

Eduardo Perez (1:18)

One thing that I had done ever since I started doing media work is I listened to Harold Reynolds.

Chris McMonigle (1:24)

Smart.

Eduardo Perez (1:25)

He was my teammate with the Angels. The only person I ever saw back then when cell phones were expensive, he not had one, but he had two.

Craig Carton (1:32)

Really?

Eduardo Perez (1:33)

I was like, man, I want to be like Harold.

Chris McMonigle (1:35)

You got to be like Harold.

Craig Carton (1:36)

He had the cell phones when they were bricks.

Chris McMonigle (1:37)

Oh, please.

Eduardo Perez (1:40)

No, he had the cool flip ones. He knew someone in Motorola.

Craig Carton (1:44)

Yes, the next time Motorola saw the greatest phone of all time.

Chris McMonigle (1:49)

I have to say. You're headed back to Tampa tonight. Book it.

Eduardo Perez (1:53)

Hey, I'm doing what you're telling me. That's what's going to happen. And I'm all in if you're telling me that. I'm making sure before the flights get all sold out.

Craig Carton (2:00)

By the way, Harold, has Eduardo been out and still for a short enough period of time where you guys can make him carry everybody's luggage or no?

Chris McMonigle (2:08)

No, Eduardo was always the cool kid, man.

Eduardo Perez (2:12)

Oh, yeah. I'll tell you this, Harold.

He's been one of the best. I keep watching. And I'll tell you another thing that's really important to me. I got a call this year from Harold early in the morning when Garrett Anderson passed away. He knew how much Garrett meant to me. Was that right? And I'm telling you, Harold was the one that called me before the news came out.

Craig Carton (2:34)

And things like that mean something.

Eduardo Perez (2:35)

Are you kidding me? Those things go a long way.

Craig Carton (2:38)

What you didn't know is that Harold hadn't gone to bed yet. It wasn't like he woke up.

Eduardo Perez (2:41)

Yeah, I know. That right there is it's it's you knows.

Chris McMonigle (2:45)

These days, with three kids, I'm split by nine.

Craig Carton (2:50)

I appreciate you, buddy. We'll talk to you again maybe later in the playoffs. And you do a great job.

Chris McMonigle (2:54)

I guess. Thank you.

SPEAKER_4 (2:56)

You got a great hour.

Craig Carton (2:58)

Reynolds, dear friend and real. You're right. Great at what he does.

Eduardo Perez (3:03)

He did a great breakdown this year on Paul Skeens and why he was not as successful as he was before. And he showed it. And sometimes it's not pictures that see it. It's physical. And sometimes it's not pictures that see it. It's hitters.

And he has the eye because he's trained for so many years doing it. And he never takes a day off.

Craig Carton (3:24)

Did you not pick up on it? Or once he showed you, you're like, I see it too.

Eduardo Perez (3:28)

I didn't have him that week.

I'll be honest with you. I'm focused on the series in hand that we have. And I try to focus on that. But also doing the leadoff spot in the morning with Steve Phillips on Sirius XM really keeps me in tune with the rest of the league. Sure.
