We have a bunch of rich dudes on the internet on some podcasts who say 10 million isn't enough, or 20 million isn't enough.

Jordi Alexander (0:05)

People should not be thinking about any kind of retirement. Like, there is no amount. Don't think of retiring on like a beach. This is maybe like a 20th century dream.

Jordi Alexander, the founder of Selini Capital, a digital asset investment firm applying macro and game theory to crypto markets. A distinctive market thinker, known for challenging prevailing narratives.

Jordi Alexander (0:29)

I've reached most of my lifelong goals already. The main one, which I always had, was I would see all these famous people. They all seem to know each other in this cabal. And I always wanted to be in that cabal. I felt like there's 10,000 people that just all cross different fields, but they hang out and they all know each other.

Kevin Follonier (0:43)

What does it look like?

Jordi Alexander (0:44)

Our check sizes are big enough that we'll be invited to talk to Sam Altman. We got like 15 minutes. You sit down, it's like, okay, shoot, what do you want to know? Some people impress you a lot. Some people don't impress you. And you're like, this person doesn't really have the aura.

Kevin Follonier (0:56)

What's the skill that a 22-year-old should spend the next decade mastering that AI will struggle to replace?

Jordi Alexander (1:01)

So right now, I would say we're in this sweet spot where AI is accelerating the people that are doers, the builders. They're telling me that I'm spinning up 100 agents. Right now, doers are in their amazing golden era for a couple of years. As a young person, you probably don't necessarily want to just be a builder. You do want to start figuring out. Some people like to call it taste. Taste is like kind of narrowing in on something through the slob.

Kevin Follonier (1:23)

How the hell do I make money? I make a lot of money in this day and age. One of your favorite frameworks is to look at where the puck is going. So enlighten us. Where is the puck going in late 2026, 2027 and beyond?

Jordi Alexander (1:34)

Yeah, I think, you know.

Kevin Follonier (1:41)

You being on your laptop just reminds me.

Yeah, reminds me these dinners we're doing like two, three years ago. When you were trading before we started or just after that. Oh, guys, like we're done with the mastermind, but let's go to dinner. Yeah, let me just 15 minutes going to the room in the hotel. Trading. I was like, guy, this guy's built different. That's true. But that's what you need to do, right? Yeah. But if you do that over and over again, it makes a massive difference.

Jordi Alexander (2:41)

It's a mindset.

Kevin Follonier (2:42)

It's a mindset. Looking good.

Jordi Alexander (2:46)

You too, brother.

Kevin Follonier (2:48)

Looking good. I was impressed when I saw you. I was like, the guy taking care of himself.

Jordi Alexander (2:53)

Right.

Kevin Follonier (2:54)

Nice.

Jordi Alexander (2:54)

Yeah.

Kevin Follonier (2:55)

I guess everyone tells you.

Jordi Alexander (2:57)

I don't mean, it's like, you know, it's a gradual process, doesn't it? So you don't, like, hear it overnight.

Kevin Follonier (3:05)

But it's addictive once you get there.

Jordi Alexander (3:08)

It's addictive in the sense like it self-reinforces itself. Yeah.

You look at yourself in the mirror and you're like, oh, this guy looks good. And then you act well because you feel good. And then you kind of reinforce yourself.

Kevin Follonier (3:23)

How do you make sure you don't break this and grow from, like, vicious...

Jordi Alexander (3:28)

Inevitably, you'll have some chaos comes in and screws you up for a while. And then it's just like how well you recover. And I think most people struggle to get kind of consistent on recovering. And the skill is really like, you know, you can't stop the chaos from happening. You'll get these like negative surrounding events happening and you just have to get back on.
