All right, everybody, welcome back to your favorite podcast, the All-In Podcast. It's episode 164 I'm down here in Miami with me again. Of course, the dictator chairman himself, Chamath Palihapitiya, and the Rain Man.
Yeah, burn baby, David Sacks. Unfortunately, we had a little bit of a challenge this week. We don't know where Friedberg is. He's somewhere lost in his Apple Vision Pros, but he'll be back next week. As you guys know, I'm incredibly generous with my friends, so I sent all the besties, the Apple Pro goggles.
And so these Apple Pro goggles are amazing, but-
**Chamath Palihapitiya** (0:38)
Wait, you did? You bought me a pair of the Apple Pro Vision Pro goggles?
**Jason Calacanis** (0:41)
Yeah, we talked about this earlier. Yeah, you guys, actually you were using them, you just forgot. But Friedberg's been using them. Nobody can find Friedberg right now, because apparently he went to Uranus. I recorded in all of these sacks what's happening inside.
Each of our Apple goggles, Vision Pro.
Yeah, and so, but yeah, Chamath, here they are. We actually took a picture, I had Nat take a picture of you wearing them. Do you want to have the sacks? Do you want to see what Chamath was doing in his goggles?
**David Sacks** (1:09)
Yeah, let's see.
**Jason Calacanis** (1:10)
I recorded it.
**David Sacks** (1:11)
Oh wow.
**Jason Calacanis** (1:12)
Yeah, look at that. See, he imagined that he did leg day. Look at those legs.
**David Sacks** (1:19)
He's just reveling. He's still reveling in that thirst trap that he posted, isn't he?
**Jason Calacanis** (1:23)
I know, but you see those legs? The Apple Vision Pro, Tim Cook.
**Chamath Palihapitiya** (1:27)
Oh yeah, look at that.
Can I say something funny about this, which is that my legs are actually darker than my torso and my upper body. It's the weirdest thing. And so you have it in reverse, but it is true that my legs are a different shade than my trunk and my arms and my body.
**Jason Calacanis** (1:43)
Okay, well here's Sacks, by the way. Sacks, he loves his goggles. Chamath, do you have any interest in seeing what Sacks was doing with his goggles?
**Chamath Palihapitiya** (1:50)
Oh my God, I can't imagine.
**Jason Calacanis** (1:52)
There he is. Sacks was speed running.
Absolutely getting in there.
**David Sacks** (1:59)
That's Saving Private Ryan, right?
**Jason Calacanis** (2:01)
Yeah, that's you. That's you, you were speed running, Saving Private Ryan there. Oh, I got them too, yes. But I didn't record myself. I didn't record myself. I maybe nicked it.
**Chamath Palihapitiya** (2:08)
Oh, I was in there.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:10)
Oh, look, what am I doing?
**David Sacks** (2:31)
Wait, you're telling me that they didn't have the third or fourth investor in Uber up, but ringing the bell with them at the original moment?
**Jason Calacanis** (2:38)
I could tell you the backstory. I was invited by TK to come to the ring of the bell. TK was disinvited, so he was there on the floor. It was very awkward.
And then they didn't have him go up and ring the bell or be even there when Dara rang the bell. It was because it was so controversial.
They banned him. It was really sad. It was super sad. But anyway, everybody, I hope you're enjoying your novels.
**David Sacks** (3:06)
So you were there or not?
**Jason Calacanis** (3:08)
I didn't go because he was like, we're going to have a party, but we're not going to be able to ring the bell. And it was just all like very...
**David Sacks** (3:16)
Did you go to the party?
**Jason Calacanis** (3:17)
I didn't. I should have. I regret not going. But it was unclear if there was even going to be a party or TK was going to go because of all the drama. And I don't know if you remember on CNBC, they were like, TK is in the building, but he's not on the thing. And then it became a big brouhaha.
But yes, I missed my window.
**David Sacks** (3:32)
I mean, if you had known that this was going to be the big exit in your life, really the only one, then you would have made every effort to attend everything, right?
**Jason Calacanis** (3:42)
Absolutely. Absolutely.
**David Sacks** (3:44)
I mean, you're still riding on that Yammer in PayPal. I was talking to somebody about this the other day. Most people's careers, you have like, you know, it's not like a smooth upward trajectory. There's like maybe a few pops that you get. You're lucky, actually, if you get a few because most people only have one or maybe two.
