DynaTech Systems Delivers Enterprise-Wide Transformation for Solmax

Hi, I'm Ciaran Allen, co-host of Cloud Wars. Now today, I want to take a bit of a dive into a specific case study. The story about the impact of digital transformation enabled by one company on the business outcomes of another. I love having the opportunity to explore stories like this because as important as it is to discuss the technology itself, how it's implemented, and what that implementation can lead to is just as critical. So let's start with the customer, Solmax and the business needs it had before we explain how the supplier DynaTech Systems was able to deliver these needs scale.
Solmax is a leading geosynthetics manufacturer, focused on civil and environmental infrastructure, operating across four continents through 32 legal entities. Now this broad reach, although great from a growth perspective, was creating challenges for Solmax such as data silos, inconsistent processes, and a lack of standardized reporting, which affected financial and operational insights. Beyond this, manual processes led to inefficiencies, complex sales price calculations, hindered productivity, and reliance on outdated Microsoft systems resulted in slower Power BI report refresh times. Now to address these challenges, Solmax had a core goal, the One Organization, One Data, One Reporting initiative aimed at standardizing processes, enabling real-time reporting and automating workflows across the supply chain. To achieve this, they partnered with DynaTech Systems, a leading Microsoft solutions partner dedicated to supporting digital transformation within the Microsoft ecosystem.
So DynaTech has a number of solutions. It will tailor to suit the outcomes of an individual client. In the case of Solmax, company opted for its finance optimization solution. Tools delivered are way beyond standard finance operations. After process consulting to develop a template for the global standardized implement and standardized rollout of the new solutions, DynaTech enabled greenfield implementation of D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management with unified processes across 32 entities. Consultants implemented Power Automate for process automation, Power BI with Microsoft Fabric for real-time analytics and unified reporting, D365 CE, secure D365, dual write and BI for D365 integrations as well as a D365 security tool all with a host of customizations. The result, the project delivered significant business value in terms of operations and strategy.
Solmax standardized operations across all 32 entities to create a consistent global operating model. Power BI refresh times will improve significantly with data updates available every three hours, or production quality and finance workflows automated to increase efficiency. Beyond this, unified real-time dashboards enhance global reporting, supported faster decision-making and improve the company's audit readiness. Solmax was able to reduce freight costs, accelerate delivery cycles, improve truck utilization, minimize penalties, and shorten accounts payable and receive processing times. These measurable outcomes are fantastic, but the magic here is in the culture and customer impact. Solmax became more transparent and consistent across its global operations. Less manual intervention meant fewer errors in quality testing and finance, and compliance was strengthened across the board.
