Hello, and welcome to SideQuest. This is a weekly video game show here at GeekVerse. Just me, Dylan, here today for a solo episode. This time, I'm gonna be doing a ranking of all of the missions in the Hitman World of Assassination trilogy. I meant to do this episode in preparation and anticipation of 7 First Light, IO's newest game. But I just, you know, life got in the way, and I didn't have time to get to it. But honestly, it kind of worked out nicely because after I played through all of 7 First Light, finished that a few weeks ago, all I've been playing since then is a bunch more Hitman. There's been a couple updates since the last time I've played. And yeah, so actually, I think it worked out better that I took some more time, played a bunch more of this game, finally got my hardcore playthrough on Freelancer Win that I've been looking for. So I feel like I just have even more context and such to do the ranking of this game now that I waited an extra couple of months. So the timing might seem a bit weird. But honestly, Hitman, it's a forever game. And if you haven't played it yet, play it now. No better time than the present. And so I'm excited to do this ranking, because I actually did this once before. It was a live stream years ago. I think it was after Hitman 3 came out, but it was before Ambrose Island and before Freelancer, I think. So it was a very different ranking to where the game is at now. And I think that is in a stream archive that has long been since deleted. So I don't think it's even on the internet anymore in a place that I can locate. So yeah, good time to do this. And yeah, just me to do this here today. Of course, some of the other boys have played some Hitman, but I think not quite enough, not on the level that I've played this game. And yeah, Hitman World of Assassination, I've talked about a lot on SideQuest, and I continue to even up until these last few weeks here on the show. It's just a game I keep coming back to over and over again. That was the case with the base game. When they added Freelancer, which is the rogue-like mode on the game, I just keep coming back to it over and over again. I keep discovering more about this game mechanically, discover so much more about these levels. It's a forever game. And really, it's just there's so many things on the backlog. There's so many new games I haven't played this year. But when it comes down to it, when I finished 7 First Light, I just wanted to play more Hitman. And that's all I've been doing for the last few weeks in terms of my solo gaming time. So yeah, I'm going to kick it off here. I have the tier list I'm going to pull open for the YouTube version, but I'll walk through it all auditory wise as well. So yeah, again, this is the Hitman World of Assassination trilogy, the newest trilogy starting with 2016, the sequel in 2018, and then 2021, I think for Hitman 3 And then it was two years later that Freelancer came out. And then all the DLC maps included in there. The things I'm not including are the sniper missions, but I'm including even like the training missions and the tutorial missions, the things that don't appear in Freelancer because they're not quite big and expensive enough. I'm still including them in the ranking for fun here. So all the missions that are in the game are ICA Facility, you got Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado, and Hokkaido from Hitman 1 You've got New Zealand, Miami, Santa Fortuna, Mumbai, Whittleton Creek, and Isles of Gale, oh, and New York, and Haven Island, all from Hitman 2, a ton there. And then Hitman 3 has Dubai, Berlin, Chongqing, Dartmoor, Mendoza, and Romania, Carpathian Mountains, and Ambrose Island as the DLC there. Yeah, I love this series and this, well, maybe not the series, I love this new trilogy. I haven't played the old games, but just truly endless possibilities with this game. So many in-depth mechanics. I learn new things every time I play this game, and every time I watch a stream, I see crazy things that I didn't even know were possible in terms of manipulating the AI and different mechanics you can do. Truly just the best game. I love this trilogy so much, and I've spent so much time with these levels.
I'm trying for this ranking to look at it holistically, because when you play through the game in the regular campaign, you have set targets that appear on each map, and there's so many scenarios set up so that you can get crazy kills on them in all sorts of ways.
