Asher's an interesting name to go by, don't you think? Unless it's like your last name, I guess.
Craig Carton (0:37)
Yeah, I want to...
Chris McMonigle (0:38)
Because it's so close to ass.
Craig Carton (0:39)
Yeah.
Chris McMonigle (0:40)
You know, like who's coming on stage before BB Rexha, oh, asses.
Craig Carton (0:45)
I have a buddy who named his son what I kind of wanted to name my second son, Asher, Asher.
Chris McMonigle (0:50)
Asher, it's not a popular name, I like that.
Craig Carton (0:52)
Yeah, Asher, it sounds badass to me. Asher's the kind of guy pictured, you know, he'd order up for a date with a pack of luckies rolled up in his white jean shirt.
Chris McMonigle (1:00)
Who's revving the motorcycle lunch outside, honey? That's my boyfriend, Asher.
Craig Carton (1:03)
Yeah. Asher.
Chris McMonigle (1:06)
You don't have daughters, so you're good with that.
Craig Carton (1:08)
I do not, no. But can I just say something real quick, because now this is the third thing that's happened to me.
Chris McMonigle (1:12)
Yes.
Craig Carton (1:12)
And this is kind of out of the blue and maybe a bit weird, but you know how I am, I told you the other day that I left my house at the same time, parked in the same park.
SPEAKER_4 (1:19)
Yes, for the Yankee game, yeah.
Craig Carton (1:21)
I've had three things happen to me today that are making me nervous.
Chris McMonigle (1:25)
Negative signs?
Craig Carton (1:26)
Yeah, a little bit, yeah.
Chris McMonigle (1:26)
Go ahead.
Craig Carton (1:28)
And cliched things, cliched things.
This morning, I threw my belt from the pair of pants, I took the pair of jeans that they were in, took the belt out and threw the belt to the hamper area and there's a mirror right there. And I accidentally hit the mirror really hard with the belt and I thought I broke it for a second and I didn't, but I hit the belt on the mirror really hard. Then leaving my house, as soon as I stepped out of my house, running from my basketball hoop and then into the neighbor's yard, was a black and orange cat. Black and orange, not just black.
SPEAKER_4 (2:09)
One cat, multi-colored.
Chris McMonigle (2:10)
Correct.
Craig Carton (2:11)
A calico like black and orange cat. And now just now, I went to go to the bathroom and the only way to get through was to walk under a ladder.
It was, the ladder was open sideways.
Chris McMonigle (2:27)
I know the one you're talking about.
Craig Carton (2:28)
It's right there.
And it was open sideways where I couldn't have passed, I would have had to move the ladder. So I didn't go.
Chris McMonigle (2:33)
And it's not your ladder to move.
Craig Carton (2:34)
And it's not my ladder to move.
Chris McMonigle (2:35)
Right. There might be a guy up on the roof right now.
Craig Carton (2:38)
So I didn't go to the bathroom.
Chris McMonigle (2:39)
You held it in.
Craig Carton (2:40)
I'm not walking under a ladder, that's crazy.
Chris McMonigle (2:42)
No. The Yankees don't play the night though.
Craig Carton (2:45)
So like the breaking of a mirror, a black cat and walking under a ladder have all at least entered my life on some level.
Chris McMonigle (2:55)
Tough spot. Plus, you're also recognized, were you not? Was that yesterday?
Craig Carton (3:00)
Where?
Chris McMonigle (3:00)
Didn't you say a guy, an older gentleman recognized you, like the supermarket or something?
Craig Carton (3:06)
He actually specifically said you don't have to mention this on air, but yes, I should have said that to you.
Chris McMonigle (3:10)
Oh, I apologize.
Craig Carton (3:11)
He didn't really say don't mention it.
No, I don't know his name. But he came up to me, yes. He came up to me at a store. I had a cable box busted, so I had to get a new cable box. So as I'm waiting for the woman to bring out a new cable box, he walks up to me slow and he's pointing the finger at me and he's looking at me and like...
