My fiancee, I'll call him Ethan, proposed to me on Christmas Eve. At the time, I was five months pregnant. So yes, our son came before the wedding. My future in-laws, Sandra and Robert, had a very different reaction. Instead of congratulating us, they immediately said that we needed to get married right away because they wanted to make sure our son wasn't born a bastard. Who says that?

Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Here Comes the Drama. I'm your host, Christa Innis, and I'm so glad you're here. Now, I'm just going to get into it. If you follow me on Instagram, I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had a special announcement on my podcast. This might come as a surprise to a lot of you, especially the ones that listen regularly. But just know that this was not an easy or quick decision. But this is going to be my last episode for the Unforeseeable Future. And it doesn't come without a lot of feeling and emotion behind it. But I've been feeling it for a while that I've not really been giving my full self to the podcast. And I'm someone that hates half-assing anything. I put my whole self into it. And lately, there's been so many new projects I've been working on, so many other things that it's been really hard for me to spend time and focus on the podcast. I love doing it. I love the community. I've built and the people I've connected with over the podcast. But it's lately been taking so much out of me that I feel like by the time I record an episode, I'm not all there and not all in it. If you guys remember, there's been a few solo episodes where I'm recording late at night after my daughter's been in bed. And I'm just drained. And I'm like, I want to put out the best content. I want to put out stuff that people are going to really enjoy. And that's saying people haven't enjoyed it.

But I think something's been kind of telling me for a little bit just to take a little break. So like I'm kind of saying in the beginning, it's an unforeseeable future. I'm not saying it's completely over, but just taking a break right now because there's so many other things that I'm trying to focus on that I really feel my whole heart in and I want to do well in. So I've kind of tossed about it. But obviously, the skits bring me so much joy. I love writing the skits. It's so fun to be creative. You guys just, that's how most of you found me. Then of course, you can see behind me here, that's book number one. I'm working on book number two.

It just keeps getting pushed down and down and down because I've all these deadlines with the podcast and with getting skits out frequently. Then I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm going to have time to do my book edits.

There's a couple other opportunities that have come up to me.

Speaking events, I talked about with Shaun and the mom. I'm going to be at her event. Then I'm speaking at another event later in October that I'm super excited for. When I set out to create content and create this brand for myself, it was all about creating stories and sharing stories.

That's what this podcast did and that's what I continued to do through skits and through my YouTube and all these different things. But ultimately, when I went to college all those years ago, I wanted to become a writer.

I know I wrote my first book last year, but my dream is to have all these books written.

Obviously, I'll keep doing the skits and everything, but I need to put more focus on the book and everything coming forward.

That's not to say that I didn't completely love doing the podcast. Like I said, I've connected with so many amazing women, and I still reach out and chat with them. We're going to do some more collaborative skits. I've got some coming out for you guys, and it's just been amazing, and I never regret it once. Now, the Here Comes the Drama name obviously is not ending either. That's the name of my book, but we are creating series on YouTube with Here Comes the Drama. I'm adding a YouTube video every single week. I already do a new YouTube video every single Wednesday, and that's a blind reaction video to some of your crazy wedding stories.

Then on Fridays now, I think they'll be coming out Fridays. It'll be a Reddit reaction videos because people love those quick read reaction videos of just some wild stories on there.
