Drafting From the 1.04 | 2026 Fantasy Football Draft Strategy

What's going on? It is Fantasy Football Daily. I am Graham Barfield, joined by Mr. John Hansen. The guru is in the house today. We're gonna be going through a mock draft from The 104 If you're listening to us on the pod, if you're listening to us on YouTube, what is going on? We're gonna try to draft the best team possible from The 104 John, you just dropped your draft plan. I'm sure we're gonna be drafting some of the players that you like from this spot. It is The 104 We're probably gonna get one of Jamar Chase or Puka Nakua here, and then we will go from there. John, how are you doing?

**John Hansen** (0:41)
Doing well. We were just talking about, like I'm all in on all the ADP and all the roster construction. As you mentioned, the draft plan is up.
We're doing from pick four and round one. Ironically, I don't do every single spot. I do like one, three, five, seven. But obviously, we've got the team I drafted from the three hole and then the five hole close enough here. And as we were just talking off the air, like there's no right answer. Like there's a lot of high quality talent in the first, like 50 players. Then there's another big drop off around 100 players. Like, you know, there's no right answer here. Like, you know, we could certainly go wide receiver in round number two. I wouldn't advise against that because I think the, the depth is pretty good down the board. Probably going to look into running backs, but what if Brock Bowers is there? That's, that's decision time. And then rounds two, I mean, three, four, like, we kind of know what we're going to do, but we're not locked into anything. It based, it's based on how the, the board goes and all that. But, you know, a lot of options here when you're picking, in most places, quite frankly this year, at least the first three, four rounds.

Yeah, this is the, one of the best second round running back groups that we've had in quite some time, John. I mean, it's just a super talented group. We'll have the 209 on the comeback, so we'll see who comes back to us here.
We get the draft started just to lay out the land here. We're starting one quarterback, two running backs, two receivers, a tight end, and two flexes. This is a PPR draft, and we're doing 10 rounds. There it is. We'll go to Jamar Chase. Easy, easy money.

I knew that was coming. I actually already predicted that. I knew Puka would go before Chase.

**Graham Barfield** (2:21)
Yeah.
We have, in terms of projections, Chris has it Puka over Chase. I've been on the opposite end. I like Chase over Puka. I think there's just a little more upside with that Bingo's pass offense, John. It's just, man, Joe Burrow might need to drop back 650 times this year.

**John Hansen** (2:37)
Chase is definitely safer, right? I mean, what else does Jamar Chase have to show? Basically, he's been durable. You know, he kind of gets dinged up, plays hurt. I mean, he's an absolute stallion. Puka, the physical playing style. You do worry about the off the field stuff. So, yeah, I got no problem taking Chase here at four.
Again, I think there's only... I see a big drop off after Puka.
There's only three. Puka, Chase and Amon Ra. I think there's a big drop off right there.

Yeah, I agree. There's a huge drop off. I think that we see it here in this draft. JSM goes over Amon Ra. John, you and I have both been saying this in all of our shows we've done together. We prefer Amon Ra over JSM. Yeah.

**John Hansen** (3:24)
Yeah, because we're looking... I'm always looking to be anticipatory here. Like, everyone who has a brain is thinking that JSM is not going to replicate what he did last year. He's got the contract, Kubiak's gone. Like, it's not going to happen. Now, that said, I've taken them in some FFPC drafts at like six, seven overall.
I think it's a solid pick, but it's not the same as last year when we were pro... Or at least I was proactively saying, get JSN early third round, because it's going to be a great ROI. Like, we're not getting that ROI this year, but he's still a damn good player, and one of the most successful, impressive seasons I've ever seen from a wide receiver last year.

Yeah, it'll be hard to duplicate that. I think I'm with you in terms of the efficiency, but I mean, they didn't add anybody, John. It's like, it's just Rashid Shaheed and Cooper Cup, Dusty Cooper Cup. They'll do their 12 personnel and multiple tight end stuff. But I mean, there's nothing holding JSN back from another 30% target share.
