G'day Duff, how are you? Hello to the listeners. I've got to give a quick shout out to the Mayor of Smeaton over there in Victoria. It's just outside of Ballarat. My good friend, Keir Reeves, he's sitting back there probably in a tub with a cigar like Winston Churchill. But anyway, that's by the by.
Yeah, what are you being up to Duff? I know what I've been up to. I've been watching Ground Up on the ABC.

I've been watching a bit of Ground Up. I sat there with my father and we binge watched about five episodes of it the other day actually. I didn't wonder aloud to dad how close this was to reality.
I get the feeling it's a bit like Yes Minister. It's a little closer to the truth than would make people comfortable.

**Sean Gorman** (1:37)
Yes, absolutely. I must admit the first episode, I was a bit, this could be a bit tighter. This could be a bit tighter. But the last couple I've been watching have been fascinating. Absolutely. Obviously, again, having worked at the AFL and then seeing the synergies or the similarities of certain characters in there, it is remarkably similar.
But yeah, it could have been really tight enough and made really a bit more cutting, I think, having had someone in the AFL, i.e. me, helping the right. But anyway, there you go. I'm just joking. But no, weirdly, I've known Sam Pang for some time, and I knew him when I first moved over to Melbourne back in 2007 And I was at a thing called the Loose Men's Lunch, which was run by Paul Daffy and John Harms. And every month, they'd get a group of men and women. It wasn't just about men. And it was a sports lunch, basically. And then they'd get guest speakers in, and it's grown hugely. But the first one I ever went to was in some pub in Brunswick, and I walked in and I had my Jeff Farmer badge on and my Freo scarf on. And anyway, I walked in there, and the first person that sort of said, Oh, g'day mate, how are you? I said, Yeah, good. Sean Gorman's my name. He goes, My name's Sam Pang. He goes, Are you Sean Gorman, the guy that wrote the book on the crackers? And I went, Yeah. So then we started up a conversation. All he wanted to do was talk about Derek Kickett. And he went through chapter and verse of every single piece of play that Derek had done with Essendon and Sydney and West Perth and so on and so forth. But he was easy to talk to, great football knowledge. So yeah, seeing him in that role, given the fact that basically every time you turn on the TV, if he's not on the front bar, he's on some other thing.
But Sam Pang's a wonderful guy to have a chat to and cheeky as all get out. So there you go.

I love the mix they've got on the front bar. So you've got Andy, the straight guy who looks like Beaker off the Muppet Show, I have to say. And then you've got Mick, the rogue and Sam, the cool cat who just sits there and delivers deadpan humour and then has a bit of a giggle at what he's just uttered himself.
He's very good, pretty good footballer too, Sam Pang.

Well, he's got this great story that he likes to tell, that he was sitting in, I think it was the Fitzroy Arms, having a beer with a few of the locals and came out after three or four beers and said, I'm the best Asian footballer of all time. And someone said, what about Les Fong?
Oh, okay, I'm the second best. And there was another name, Profit Up and all the rest of it. Anyway, so he ended up coming down to calling himself 3G. So, if ever you see Sampang listeners in the streets of Melbourne or anywhere else for that matter, just say, how's the 3G going in that regard? So, yeah, it was very funny. Les Fong, obviously the best footballer of Asian heritage that we know of.
