Another week, another episode.

As always, I'm your host, Shaun Holko, alongside my guy. He's been a minute, but he's back for football season. He's been rocking with us for the last two, three football seasons, and we appreciate him so much for that. None other than Kaz Johnson, formerly of Kazzie Bear TV, now of Just Casually, joining us from the great state of Iowa. How are we doing, Kaz?

Kaz Johnson (0:56)

Feel good, man. Like we mentioned before, the show started a little under the weather right now, so, you know, just getting through that, but I feel great, man. I mean, the worst of it's gone. So just waiting, waiting for football season. You know, we're at that, we're in the home stretch, but it feels like it's taken years for that first game. So glad to be back. I've been waiting to get back on the podcast for a long time, but obviously with me having a very busy summer with personal training, just no time for it. So either way, we're here. School's back in session. I have more free time. I'm ready to go.

Shaun Holko (1:35)

Yes, sir. And we appreciate you joining us as always here for episode number 196 Jaevon, the pod father will be unable to join us tonight as he's tending to his daddy duties, as well as Kevin won't be able to be with us tonight, as today is his anniversary with his wife, Alyssa. Congratulations to them on another year and happy anniversary.

Kaz and I are going to be rocking here on episode 196, as we're going to dive into all things NFL. But before we get to another NFL season, Kaz, I just wanted to highlight one of my favorite pictures here on the podcast. This is why you got to tune in on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, just so you can see Kaz wearing that Devo Samuel jersey because he's back in number 19, 19 problems, he's back Kaz. And so I'm glad I still got that photo on the panel.

Kaz Johnson (2:21)

You know what's crazy is, so I quit bartending. And if you guys, for those of you who can't see the photo, was me wearing a Devo Samuel jersey from one of my old patrons while I was bartending.

In February, it'd be three years since I bartended. So we've been doing this for a while. It's kind of crazy how like that photo there was literally almost, it was probably three years ago from this date, probably a little later, but it wasn't too long, or it was a while back. And like you said, we've been doing this for two, three years now, that photo is a blast from the past. It feels like it's been 10 years since I've been bartending. And yeah, it's crazy. So I ain't too mad at it. It's like, yeah, I rocked the jersey, I lost a bet, but at the end of the day, it kind of shows how far we've come. So it is what it is, man.

Shaun Holko (3:07)

Yeah, most definitely. And it also shows that you're a man of your word. And if you lose a wager, you're willing to put on the jersey that you hate the most. I'd say you probably hate the Cowboys more than the Niners. But then other than that, I don't know if there's a team you hate more than the Niners. So it just shows you're a man of your word and follow through on your wagers.

Kaz Johnson (3:26)

It's not so much the Niners. Sometimes the Niners fans can get a little, especially after last season, I guess, just like, yeah, I don't really like you guys, I ain't gonna lie to you. It's just not my cup of tea. Good people, some of you are good people. When it comes to football season, I got to put you in the same category as Cowboys.

Shaun Holko (3:45)

So yeah, that's understandable. But yeah, the 49ers, we had that photo since the 49ers beat the Eagles, I think in, it was like week 13 of the 2023 regular season. So yeah, it's been a minute. It's been almost three full years since that happened. And that was obviously the follow up to the Eagles beat down on the Niners 38 to seven in the NFC championship game a few years back. And obviously, the Eagles went on to get revenge, something that the 49ers could never do. And so no matter how many times I show that photo until the 49ers end up winning the Super Bowl, it's kind of all for naught on me and Totty's end as we're just gonna keep screaming at the clouds, hoping and praying that we could see what you've now seen twice in your lifetime, which is your team winning the Super Bowl. And so let's not waste any more time, Kaz. Let's get right into it here on episode number 196 of Stats Over Politics. Let's get to some NFL topics that we have from over the last week or two, starting out with some news that I'm not a fan of at all. And it seemed inevitable once Miles Garrett got traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams. We started to hear churps, we started to hear murmurs that Aaron Donald was thinking about returning to the NFL and we last saw Aaron Donald a couple of years ago.
