Football is back and this is Believe. Your home for NFL and college football news and analysis all season long. Now, let's start the show.

Dejan Kovacevic (1:52)

The statistical term is A-dot. If you've got a really good A-dot as an offense in the National Football League, you're going to benefit from it even if it doesn't work, at least to a degree. Good morning to you. Good Thursday morning. I'm Dejan Kovacevic of DK Pittsburgh Sports. This is Daily Shot of Steelers presented by the FanDuel Sportsbook. It comes your way bright and early every weekday. If you're into hockey and or baseball, I also offer Daily Shots and the other two teams in town. Penguins and Pirates, hope you can check those out as well. Steelers practiced yesterday. They'll continue practicing today and tomorrow in preparation for the Patriots.

That's Sunday, 103 p.m. Eastern Time in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The news of the day out of practice was injury based. Detroit Foutanu not practicing at all because of the right ankle that was rolled up on. I told you earlier, and I'll repeat today, that Troy himself told me he's going to be totally fine. We'll see if this might have just been a precautionary move to get him an extra day of rest. Darnell Washington had a personal day, didn't practice at all. Michael Pittman was a limited participant because of a foot injury. And Joey Porter was a limited participant because of that whole ramp up thing they keep describing. I have a feeling Joey is going to need to ramp all the way up today in order to be available Sunday.

One common topic of conversation on the South Side, not surprisingly, was the odd nature of the Steelers' offense against the Falcons, trying again and again and again to make something happen deep, only to be thwarted in one form or other. Within that, how determined they sound to just keep going at that and getting it right. This was Mike McCarthy yesterday after practice.

Mike McCarthy (3:54)

Well, the biggest thing for us is to just make sure we got the time and the coordination between those throws and the protection and how they fit into the plan, because a lot of times those throws are more about when you call them and making sure we have the platform to throw them.

But, I know I have expressed this here in the past. We have had a very productive training camp as far as pushing the ball down field, down field throws and so forth. So, we are going to trust our menu of offense and we are going to line up and try to attack their defense the way we feel gives us the best chance to be successful. So, nothing has changed of how we feel by throwing the ball short, long.

Dejan Kovacevic (4:49)

Okay, great. I don't know of anybody who supposed. To throwing deep. Like, at any level of the game.

You should want to do it, but you should... Also be able. Let's do it! If you look at the throws, That Aaron Rodgers made. Deep. I'm pretty sure we'd agree. But they were on the mark, or mostly on the mark. I'm also pretty sure, in fact, I'm certain, that we would agree, since it's just a statistical fact, that the Steelers went 3 of 13

On Third Downs, and on a good bunch of those. Rather than simply taking the layup that would be there in front of him, Rodgers would really let one fly.
