I was just wondering. But I guess Deshaun Watson, the starting quarterback, addressed the media to apologize for his post-game remarks.
**Shannon Sharpe** (0:14)
He had this to say, Joe. Yep.
**Deshaun Watson** (0:24)
First off, I want to address the comments from Saturday after the game.
You know, I think just, you know, human nature, just myself being very emotional, putting a lot of time these last two years to, you know, get back and, you know, spend time in this facility, in the city, meeting a lot of different people in the community. You know, I thought I was going to get, you know, a little different response. But, you know, I think, you know, my emotions got the best of me. And, you know, I wasn't, my comments wasn't intending to go at any of the fans around in the city. Because there's been a lot of great fans that have been supporting me. And I know the frustration this organization have put. You know, a lot of investment in coming, you know, to get me back in 22 And things haven't been going in the right direction that we thought it was. You know, a lot of injuries, a lot of time off, and not putting the best football in my foot forward. So, again, just, you know, I understand the frustration. I understand everything that kind of goes into that. You know, and moving forward, I just want to focus on football, making sure that, you know, I'm putting the best product out there, having the best ability, you know, because I thrive off the energy. I thrive off the energy of the fans. I thrive off the energy of the community. I thrive off all that stuff. You know, I think looking back in my history at Clemson and, you know, previous at the Houston organization, you know, I was a big community guy, a big city guy, a big fan guy, you know, during the game. So, you know, again, my emotions got the best of me. I'm a human. I take full responsibility of that. And, you know, just moving forward, I want to make sure that I put the best part up for the team, for the organization and for this city so we can put a lot of wins and make sure that I celebrate and put Cleveland on the map.
What's up, Deebo?
**James Harrison** (2:18)
No, no, no, no, no, no, listen, Joe. I need to know if we got them clips that I wanted. You all got the clips, man? Just let me know if y'all got the clips or not, because I really want to get into Deshaun's comments after the Buffalo game, because-
**Joe Haden** (2:30)
You're going to backtrack.
**James Harrison** (2:32)
I just want to see, I just want to remind people, because I know it was, like if we had that, could you please play those couple things right now, please?
**Shannon Sharpe** (2:44)
Because when you say things and it goes on the record, and then a day, two, three later, your feelings, your comments, your words, you get the starting job.
**James Harrison** (3:14)
You know, it may be the starting job changed that. But I just wanna look and hear what he had to say after the game. Could you guys please play those two clips?
**Deshaun Watson** (3:27)
I mean, I didn't have no reaction. I think the biggest thing is, I think you guys know too, and I think the whole world knows, it has nothing to do about the performance. It's a little bit personal than that. So, I think that's a disrespectful thing. So, yeah, I mean, I'm going to keep whatever I feel with me and my family internally on how I feel about that.
And yeah, just move on.
**SPEAKER_5** (3:53)
But don't you think, Deshaun, that winning and playing better would eliminate some of that booing?
**Deshaun Watson** (4:02)
Last time I played on this field, I took my Achilles. And that same fan base, they cheered when I got hurt.
So, does that have to do it? What does that have to do with anything about performance? When a person get hurt, especially for your own city, and they cheer.
**SPEAKER_5** (4:23)
Does that make you regret coming here?
**Deshaun Watson** (4:25)
No, I don't regret anything in my life. I think the Lord put me through situations for a reason. So, I don't regret anything at all. But, you know, I had different thoughts on how it was going to be. But, you know, it is what it is.
You know, sometimes, you know, the tables turn. And I'm patient enough because I'm a child of God to, you know, wait for that time to change. So I'm not tripping on it. I'm not tripping on it.
