**James Harrison** (0:00)
You heard what I said, man. Look here, man. Go on over here to the Browns, because y'all did this, but it was the right thing to do, because you should have did it, but you shouldn't have did it, because you're the Browns, and y'all don't do things right, but you did something right for once. Denzel Ward definitely wants to stay with the Browns after the trade. He said, I definitely want to be here. Miles is a good friend of mine, a good teammate, but things aren't lost, Joe.
It's Ohio against the world.
**Joe Haden** (0:28)
Come on, Denzel.
**James Harrison** (0:29)
People could doubt us. You're getting a little excited about that. See what I'm saying?
**Joe Haden** (0:33)
My bad, my bad. Keep it real, keep it real.
**James Harrison** (0:35)
My bad. So people could doubt us, but we're going out there trying to play our best ball and bring wins to the city. I believe that either you're with us or against us. And as you see, he's not with us. Ooh, crazy trade. But hey, that's the nature of the game, he said.
Joe, your guys say he definitely want to be there. I mean, he only got a couple of years left or something. Like how old is your guy, though?
**Joe Haden** (1:11)
Denzel, Denzel still young.
**James Harrison** (1:13)
He's still young?
**Joe Haden** (1:14)
Yeah, not young, but he's under 30 He's like 20, probably 29, 28
**James Harrison** (1:20)
I'm thinking like 29, Joe. I think he only got to see. Listen here, Joe. Listen, you want me to tell you what really happened here, Joe?
**Joe Haden** (1:26)
Go ahead.
**Brandon Aiyuk** (1:27)
You tell me what you think first and I'm going to let you know what's going on in the brown town because I know.
**James Harrison** (1:32)
That man only got two years left on that hundred million dollar deal, okay, with no guaranteed money left, okay? Now, he's listening to Barry when Barry said, Ward is a big part of the king and we like him a lot. He didn't say love him, Joe. He said like him a lot, Joe.
He said he's playing at a really high level.
**Joe Haden** (1:58)
Because he is.
**James Harrison** (1:59)
Okay. That doesn't change with this transaction, Joe.
Joe, what does the top corner are making the lead nowadays, Joe?
**Joe Haden** (2:10)
30
**James Harrison** (2:11)
30 He at what?
**Joe Haden** (2:13)
He at 20
**James Harrison** (2:14)
With no guarantee?
**Joe Haden** (2:16)
Yep.
**James Harrison** (2:17)
How old is he, Joe? 29?
**Joe Haden** (2:18)
29
**James Harrison** (2:19)
Hey, 29 What did they do to you at 29, Joe?
**Joe Haden** (2:22)
They got me about it a little earlier. 26, 27, 28, 28
**James Harrison** (2:30)
He about to be 30, I think, this year.
I don't know. Maybe it's next April. I don't know. Either way it go. These two years, he go be 31 at the end of it. I mean, I would give the same type of lip service, but yes, if what your man Barry said is truly what he means, why wouldn't he go ahead and read that man up, give him some gassy money, make him feel good about putting his body on the line?
**Joe Haden** (3:02)
Because right now he under, you know, because he don't have to. Like you said, he's under contract for the next two years. He's a little getting to the older age in the corner, and he just got to continue to perform at a high level. He's still getting $20 million per year for the next two years. So it's still probably around two for 40 somehow. So long as Denzel Ward keeps balling, and he's not a problem. Denzel is one of those dudes where he's just staying out the way, he's going to do his job, and he's not going to make a problem. If the Browns are wanting to feel like, man, okay, he's getting a little bit older, let's see what we can try to go get for him.
To each his own, Denzel's not going to be out here just trying to make up, stir up any noise in the media. That's not the kind of guy he is.
All he's going to do is go out there and ball. So with me, I'm rocking with Denzel. He's giving the same, just staying out the way. When you got a good player that's knowing where he's at in this contract, where he's at in the league, he knows that it's no point. If the Browns are going to do business, they're going to go do business no matter what. If he says he wants to stay, if he would go out there and be trying to red flags. Keeping all the red flags out of there. You're going to say what you want to say, be there with the Browns. You're going to continue to ball out because once you get to this level, once you get to your ninth year in the league at corner, all you can do is ball. You don't want to be a distraction. You don't want to be... They're finding reasons not to pay you. And once you get that contract, like you said, Deebo, making $20 million a year, the youngest new dudes that are coming in making $30, stay, keep balling out to let them know if you do want to go, if the Browns don't want to pay you after these two years that you're making $20, you could still be able to ball out for another team where you can leave and start doing the Reavis stuff to where I'm just going to go, I'm strapping corner, and I'm going to get my services of what the highest paid corner gets paid around the league. So I'm with Denzel just trying to stay cool, stay culture, keeping it all smooth. If they want to think that they can move and go somewhere else, you're going to go ball regardless. It's not your fault the same way it wasn't Myles' fault that the Browns aren't winning games. So you just continue to be your part. You be Denzel Ward and travel around and be a good person, be a good player, don't make no distractions, and go and ball. So I think he's doing it the perfect right way, just trying to be a team player, knowing what it is with his deal, knowing where he's at in his league and his contract and like how old he is. So Denzel, kudos to you. You're going to ball out for the Browns. And if they do decide to move on from you, like they moved on from me thinking like, oh no, he's a little bit older. Maybe I can go get younger or something like that.
