Oh, you know what that music is. It's Football Friday on the Fan, and we're giving away tickets to see the Giants and Tennessee this Sunday.

Tickets to see the game go. Well, yeah.

Chris McMonigle (0:10)

People are gonna die!

Craig Carton (0:12)

Well, hopefully not at the game.

September 27th at MetLife Stadium. Call now and be caller number one at 866-540-WFN. That's 866-540-9326 for your chance to win.

Chris McMonigle (0:25)

Here's the update. So, the Yankees are gonna, you could redeem the ticket you had for the Saturday game for another ticket now. There is no refund. If you're dying to go to both games, frankly, tonight, based on availability, you can call the Yankees box office up, or ever you acquire your tickets, and you can get a voucher and trade Saturday's ticket to go to both games today. If you don't wanna do that, also that's fine. You'll get a voucher for a ticket to a game next year.

So, you're not gonna get your account refunded, but you'll get a credit towards a ticket either again. If your schedule allows you to go to the 4 o'clock game, which is the Sabathia game now, or tonight's game, which in the standings doesn't have much meaning, you can do that if tickets are available, or you can wait till next year and redeem those tickets then.

So, look, the Yankees are in a tough spot, obviously. The Yankees didn't create this problem. You didn't create this problem, but you know, you have to be able to pivot and be fluid and do what you think is the best answer for the majority, not for the minority.

Craig Carton (1:35)

Well, the majority, the best for what the majority is, is to move it to next year.

Chris McMonigle (1:39)

To move the ceremony. Yes. But CC Sabathia didn't want that. And it's his ceremony.

Craig Carton (1:43)

I'm not blaming anyone again.

Chris McMonigle (1:45)

So blame him.

Craig Carton (1:46)

I don't want to play the blame game.

Chris McMonigle (1:47)

How come nobody's blaming CC?

Craig Carton (1:48)

I just wish both the Yankees and CC came to a better final decision.

Chris McMonigle (1:52)

Seems like the Yankees, and again, I may not be factual.

Craig Carton (1:56)

They talked it through with CC. That's what they said.

Chris McMonigle (1:58)

Right. So they went to him and said, what do you want to do? We can push it back to next year. Yes. Or we can do it today.

Craig Carton (2:04)

Well, I don't know what was said. All I know is I was told that the Yankees called in and said that this was a full decision. CC was on board with this. Then you can't complain. We can still complain.

I'm not blaming anyone. I'm just saying I wish for Yankee fans and the majority of the people we're talking about, I wish the decision was made to push it back to next year as opposed to moving up to today.

Chris McMonigle (2:27)

Okay, that's fine.

Craig Carton (2:28)

I think it's a bad decision. Whoever made it, whoever's fault it was, I think it's a bad decision.

Chris McMonigle (2:32)

Why? I don't think so.

Craig Carton (2:33)

Now, I get it. If CC put his foot down and said, look, I got too many people.

Chris McMonigle (2:36)

I got family time.

Craig Carton (2:37)

I have family coming. I'm not telling all these people not only is today canceled and you came here for nothing, but you got to come back at some point next year. I get it.

Chris McMonigle (2:45)

We complain too much about things.

Craig Carton (2:46)

If that's the case, and I'm not even saying it is, I have no idea what CC necessarily said, but he was involved in the decision making. I just wish they came to a different decision.

Chris McMonigle (2:54)

That's fair. But if CC Sabathia said, let's do it next year, it would be next year. He decided not to.

Craig Carton (2:59)

I don't know that to be true, but that's fair.

Chris McMonigle (3:01)

In any event, you got the Red Sox on Tuesday. I asked you a question going into the break.

Craig Carton (3:04)

Not just yet, but we're assuming it's the Red Sox.

Chris McMonigle (3:06)

Okay. Let's just, it's the Red Sox. So assuming it's the Red Sox, you saw the same report I saw that at least publicly, the Yankees are not committed to Kam Schlittler, who's going to win the Cy Young Award this year.

I mean, one of the most dominant performances, especially on the road this year, but that's either here nor there. As a diehard Yankee fan, you have no problem with that? Are you saying to yourself, why are we getting cute here? Kam Schlittler, it's a best of three series, not a best of seven. It's a best of three. Doesn't your best pitcher open up so you get the win out of the gate? Or am I off on that?
