So you know one of the things that gets overlooked when you're taking daily supplements is the actual quality of the supplement itself. And creatine is one of the most researched and effective supplements available. But as the categories exploded, most brands have focused more on like flavors, formats, or their marketing, instead of actually making the creatine better itself. That's why Momentus has created Signature Spec Creatine, their most advanced creatine ever. Here's what it does. It sets a new standard for the quality of the creatine. Momentus Signature Spec Creatine is one of the only creatines to be manufactured in a pharmaceutical facility using reverse osmosis water purification and verified through an expanded six stage testing process with four independent agencies. That's why I love them. And the benefits of creatine, as you know, is real. I love using Momentus and their supplement stacks because I care about the quality of what I take and there's nothing better than their products. Welcome back to the show everybody. So today is one of my favorite people I've ever had on the show. I didn't tell him that off camera, I'm telling him that on camera. I enjoyed our time so much together. He's a really special man.

You know him because he's one of the greatest baseball players literally of all time. In my lifetime, he's on one hand of the greatest players I've ever seen.

Seventeen years in the major leagues. Let's see, four World Series, Rookie of the Year, home runs, just bananas. He's awesome. And that's not why I wanted him back on the show. I wanted him back on the show because he's one of the most remarkable people. He's changed his life multiple times. He also loves Jesus, which is something that we share in common. And just there's something happens when we get together that was afloat. It was one of the most shared shows of all time, and I'm hoping that's the case again today. The great Darryl Strawberry. Welcome back to the show.

Darryl Strawberry (2:17)

Well, thank you so much, Ed. Man, it's so good to see you, man.

Ed Mylett (2:20)

It's been too long.

Darryl Strawberry (2:21)

It's been a couple of years. You moved out of California, now to Florida.

Ed Mylett (2:25)

And you've had a heart attack and a bunch of other stuff.

Darryl Strawberry (2:26)

Yeah, all the good stuff.

Ed Mylett (2:28)

By the way, before we begin, he has a new book out called Another Life, and it's outstanding, and that's kind of what we're going to talk about today. So let's start. Let's go back. You've had multiple lives. In fact, you're lucky to be alive, right? I don't know if everybody knows this, but Darryl's been pretty public with the fact that when he played, he was this unbelievable player, but he had a good time on the side. So there was some drugs and some stuff and had some issues happen. Then once all that gets going, then he has colorectal cancer. We almost lose you then. And now just in 2024, you had a heart attack.

Darryl Strawberry (2:59)

Yes. Well, thanks for reminding me about the good time I had when I was a player.

Ed Mylett (3:03)

Yeah.

Darryl Strawberry (3:03)

I really was a wild, wild man. He'd been lifestyle playing here in New York City. It was wide open in the 80s. I was young. I was 21 So I experienced a lot of things and got caught up into a lot of things, but it didn't derail me from playing baseball, because that's what I always wanted to do. So I knew how to do that. I just didn't know how to live. So it cost you later on in your life at some point. I always tell people that you can pick your sins, but you can't pick the consequences of it. And the reality is, is I had a lot of consequences that came with it. And so I paid a lot of price for that.

And also for my health issues.

I paid a big price for that. And it's just all part of life. Life is just like a journey, a journey that you go through. And I always tell people there's three phases of life. There's your childhood, there's your middle part, and then your end part.

Which way you want to finish? How you want to finish a race? Well, my goal is to finish the race strong. I had all the things that I wanted to have in life, had all the fun, and was at the top of the mountain, and looking down, and realizing that nobody's really up there. Everybody pretends to be a friend because of what you have and who you are. But when the real reality comes, and when things really hit, you'll find out what people are really like. And I'm grateful for that, that I was able to go through that and experience all that, and really turn out to reinvent myself.
