Before we get too far along into today, if we haven't gotten the opportunity to meet, my name is Kevin, you met my wife, Melissa earlier, and we are honored to lead here at New Vision. God has been doing some incredible things, and we're excited to continue to see what he does as we build his kingdom through his church, which we are the church.
So privileged to get to lead here. If this is your first time, thank you for showing up. Thank you for being present in the room, present online. We're so grateful that we have reached beyond just what we do right here, right now, that you can be watching this at home or listening to it maybe sometime later this week. We really do appreciate you all joining us today. Look around real quick and take in, like, who's around you. Just do that real quick. There's going to be a quiz.
All right, here's a couple of things that I want you to know. As you look around today, what you are seeing in the space nearby are two things. One, you're catching a glimpse of heaven. As you look around this room, I hope that there's not a Sunday that goes by that we don't gather together, that you don't walk in and be like, man, if this is a glimpse, I can't wait to get to heaven, where everybody is together. This is such an incredible glimpse of what all nations, all races, all people coming together to worship God looks like. I'm so grateful for God answering the prayer that we've been praying for the last seven years that this room would reflect His kingdom.
And as you look around, I hope that you know that there are miracles in the room. And it might even be you. You might not even look past yourself knowing what God has done, knowing how He's been faithful, knowing how He's shown up, knowing the call that He's placed on your life, the things that He's already done. And so I just want to say, if that's you, if you are a miracle that's sitting in this room, why don't more people know?
If God really did do what He did, why would that be a secret that somebody has to find out a year into a relationship with you?
I don't think that God preserved, I don't think that God provided, I don't think that God saved, I don't think that God redeemed any of us for us to keep that silent. I think that He intervened in our story for His glory, so that through our story, others may come to know Him. So don't sit on what God has been doing. What He's been doing in you needs to be spread to those around you. In fact, I've been praying about this service in particular. And so I just want to make this statement and then I'll talk about it for a second before I jump into the word this morning. Some of you are attending the wrong service. Some of you, oh, yeah.
Some of you have been attending the 11 o'clock because it feels good for you.
The energy, the people, the... Man, this fills me.
I want to remind you of what this year has been about, what God has pointed us to and drawn our attention to this year, that we are to make room. Make room for more people, people that God loves. Make room for God to do more in us and through us. And some of you are occupying a chair that God is asking you to make room for someone else to sit in. Some of you need to be in the 9 o'clock service because the 11 o'clock service is where you need to be serving. Oh, see, I touched on it already today. Some of you are comfortable serving in the 9 and coming to the 11 because this feels much better. There's more people that come to this service. That's true. We have two services on purpose. It's intentional.
But if more people come to the 11 than come to the 9, that means there are less people serving in the 11 when more people are showing up.
So some of you, the minute I said you're attending the wrong service, God hits you like this. Some of you need to talk to your team leaders and you say, you know what, I need to make room. I've been thinking about this thing all backwards. I've been coming thinking that the church is supposed to serve me, that I'm just to benefit from all that God is doing. And God is reminding me that I am serving him in his kingdom, in his church, and I need to make room. I need to be a part of what God is doing. And so, hey, I need to serve in the 11 and come to the 9 Yeah, still no claps. I got you though.
