Hi everyone, JJ here. Welcome back to The Lounge. Well, Elon Musk is melting down on X over the damning new documentary by Alex Gibney. Musk, which has just premiered at the Venice Film Festival. This is the third video I've made on this subject. And this time, Elon is melting down. He's clearly rattled and also threatening to sue. Elon Musk seems legitimately shaken over this new documentary. The bully is mad, says Futurism. And this from The Daily Beast. Elon Musk melts down over damning documentary Hit Peace, which is what Elon called it. The tech mogul is trying to get ahead of his pending takedown. And this about the suing. Elon Musk threatens to sue over Alex Gibney's controversial documentary as the lawyer says, a flick reeks of bias. Musk, the documentary by filmmaker Alex Gibney, slated for release on October 16
So, premieres at the Venice Film Festival. Rave reviews, standing ovation, released in theaters soon. So Elon not happy about it. So the film is clearly triggering the Tesla CEO judging by his meltdown on eggs. The article says, Musk is portrayed in the documentary as petty, narcissistic, megalomaniacal, cruel and detached from humans at a personal level. According to an early look at the film, as described in Deadline, the film also raises questions about whether the world's richest person may have used his styling system to steal the 2024 election for Donald Trump, as one journalist put it. Now Musk himself has unleashed on the upcoming film, slamming it as nothing more than a hit piece.
Gibney just assembled a hit list of people who either have an ax to grind or don't even know me, but still have an ax to grind. He wrote in one of his several reply posts on X about the documentary on Wednesday, and we'll have a look at some of what else he said.
Then he declared the filmmaker has zero integrity and called Gibney a horrible human. According to The Hollywood Reporter Ashley Sinclair, one of several women who share at least 14 children with Musk, claims in the documentary that he told her before the election that he would unleash the anomaly in The Matrix. Sinclair also told Gibney that Musk referred to his 10,000 lasers in space, an apparent reference to his starling system, according to the outlet. The film does not reinforce Sinclair's claims, but it does show text messages that appear to corroborate what Musk told her.
Musk wrote on X on Wednesday during his crusade against the film that Sinclair craves the spotlight. Elon also denied Sinclair's claim that she turned down a $40 million NDA to stop talking about him. She was never offered that and has a history of making claims, he wrote in another post.
All right, so let's see this one about the suing. Elon Musk is threatening to sue of a documentarian Alex Gibney's new movie about him, saying the film's insinuation that Musk influenced the 2024 election in President Trump's favor reeks of defamation.
Musk's high-profile lawyer, Alex Spiro, blasted Gibney's film in a new letter addressing the head of the production company behind it. Spiro zeroed in on coverage of the movie, which premiered Tuesday at the Venice Film Festival, noting the flick suggests Musk used his styling satellites to tilt the 2024 contest in favor of his ally, Trump. So it says you are on notice before release that the insinuation is false, that the material refuting it is public, and that you chose not to be told the rest. Aspero wrote at a million of Jigsaw Productions. He was referencing articles noting that Musk's ex, Ashley Sinclair, says in the movie, he had told me before the election he was going to unleash the anomaly in the Matrix. She goes on to say Musk told her, I have 10,000 lasers in space. Asked by Gibney if she believes Musk is referring to Starlink, she says, I mean, I don't know where else he has space lasers. Spurro's letter states that quotes and other statements in the movie superficially frame the idea of Musk committing election interference as a question, but really amount to an unfounded accusation of a serious crime. So this will be ongoing and I'm going to follow this. So let's have a look at some of the messages. So Fred Lambert from Electric, who is a critic of Elon Musk, one of the top Tesla journalists, I would say, over the years. He says, Elon is mad, referring to Elon's tweet. Gibney has zero integrity, zero. Fortunately, his movies are boring AF. Well, they're not. We're gonna have a look at some of his previous movies, what he's made before. I mean, some pretty amazing movies.
