Welcome back to the Daily Crypto Deep Dive. Due to popular demand, we're doing part 4 of this AI, Money, Bitcoin and Crypto series. And first, shout out to Homeboy for requesting this one, because after covering work, money, bitcoin and altcoins, there is one part of the market we absolutely have to talk about. Meme coins. Because whether people love them, hate them, trade them, mock them, or pretend they are too serious for them, meme coins are now part of Crypto.
Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Pepe, Bonk, Floki and thousands of smaller tokens have shown that attention itself can become a market. But in an AI-driven world, that gets even more complicated, because artificial intelligence makes attention cheaper to manufacture, hype easier to create and fake momentum harder to spot. So in this episode, we're going to take this step by step. First, we'll quickly recap where this series has gone so far. Then we'll look at what meme coins really are. After that, we'll break down why AI could make meme coins explode in number, why that makes the market more dangerous, and why only a tiny number of meme coins may survive long term. And by the end, we'll ask the real question. In an AI world, are meme coins a genuine new asset class, or are they just the purest form of speculation? Before we get into it, if you're building your crypto portfolio, you can check out Kraken using the link in the description. This is not financial advice, but Kraken is one of the platforms listeners can use to buy and manage major crypto assets. We are currently giving 20 XRP to listeners who sign up through our link below.
And if you are holding crypto seriously, especially through multiple market cycles, make sure you think about security as well. The ledger link is in the description, because in an AI world full of fake links, fake accounts, cloned voices and automated scams, protecting your crypto matters more than ever. Now let's get into part four properly. In part one, we looked at what happens when AI starts doing jobs for almost nothing. The big idea was that AI could make labor cheaper, weaken wages, reduce the cost of digital services and force governments into more spending, more debt and possibly more money printing. In part two, we moved into Bitcoin. We looked at why Bitcoin could become more important in an AI economy because Bitcoin is scarce.
AI creates abundance. Bitcoin stays limited.
AI can produce endless content, code, images, videos, bots and websites. Bitcoin cannot be printed beyond 21 million. In part three, we looked at altcoins. We said the serious altcoins have to prove utility. Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Cardano and other major networks need to show real use cases, real adoption, real liquidity and real token value capture. Weak altcoins may get exposed because AI makes fake projects easier to create. Now part four is different, because meme coins are not really about utility in the traditional sense. Meme coins are about attention. That is the first thing to understand. A meme coin usually does not win because it has the best technology. It does not usually win because it has the strongest developer ecosystem, the best payment rails, the deepest institutional adoption, or the most advanced smart contract system. A meme coin wins when people care about it. It wins when the community is loud, the joke is simple, the branding is easy to understand, and the market decides the attention is worth trading. That sounds ridiculous to a lot of traditional investors, but crypto has proved it can matter. Dogecoin started as a joke and became one of the most recognized cryptocurrencies in the world. Shiba Inu became a massive retail phenomenon. Pepe showed how fast meme culture can move into token markets. Solana meme coins have shown how quickly a low-fee chain can turn attention into speculation. So meme coins are not normal investments. They are not like Bitcoin. They are not like Ethereum. They are not even like most altcoins.
Meme coins are attention markets. They are culture, timing, liquidity, community, humor, and speculation all wrapped into one. And this is where AI changes the game. AI makes content almost unlimited. It can create memes, images, videos, slogans, logos, websites, social posts, comments, fake engagement, bot replies, influencer-style scripts, and even fake founder personalities at scale. That means launching a meme coin can become easier than ever. One person with AI tools can create a brand, a website, a token story, a telegram group, a Twitter campaign, a launch narrative, and a whole content machine in a few days. That means the number of meme coins could explode even more.
And this is the first major warning of the episode. AI does not just make good meme coins more powerful. It makes bad meme coins easier to fake. In the past, a meme coin needed at least some community energy. People had to make the jokes, share the posts, create the memes, argue online, and push the culture forward. But with AI, a lot of that can be automated. A project can look active when it is not. A community can look bigger than it is. A chart can look like it has momentum because bots are talking about it. A founder can look professional because AI helped build the whole image. That makes the meme coin market more dangerous for retail investors. Because the hardest thing in meme coins is not finding one that is going up. The hardest thing is knowing whether the attention is real. Is the community real? Is the liquidity real?
