Craig Carton (0:00)

Hey, hey, 233 So Big Mac just talked to the New York Yankees.

Chris McMonigle (0:05)

Yes.

Craig Carton (0:06)

And I think finally put this part of the conversation to rest, so go ahead.

Chris McMonigle (0:10)

Yeah.

So, yeah, I guess it was a miscommunication between me and Sean. But anyway, I just spoke to the Yankees. They wanted to make it clear that they treated today, or this situation, as CC Sabathia's day. They believed it was his day, and it was up to him to make the decision. And CC decided that this was the best option to go today on Friday.

Craig Carton (0:31)

Because he's probably got tons of people in town for it.

Chris McMonigle (0:34)

Right.

Craig Carton (0:34)

Right, for the entire weekend.

Chris McMonigle (0:35)

I guess I kind of said that it was, I gave them the credit that CC was involved in the discussion, in the decision. Right. But it wasn't necessarily a coming of the minds. It was CC, what would you like to do? And CC said I'd rather do it today.

Craig Carton (0:49)

Oh, there you go.

Chris McMonigle (0:49)

There you go.

Craig Carton (0:50)

Then I have people on Twitter, this one guy Sweeney something or other.

Carton, you're a jackass. A lot of people planned on going for the bobblehead.

Chris McMonigle (1:00)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (1:01)

Jackass. Do you know what's coming into town this weekend where he started?

Chris McMonigle (1:05)

The bobbleheads today, the Josh Hart bobblehead. So I think that's why it was so difficult, even despite the games being less meaningful than what they would have been if they were still chasing a division or whatever. But there were so many tickets sold to today's game because of the Josh Hart bobblehead. So they couldn't accommodate taking everybody from Saturday and giving them tickets to Friday because they have a full sellout because everyone's trying to get Josh Hart bobblehead.

Craig Carton (1:30)

Allow me to be a bad guy here for a second, which I don't normally like to be. You know how selfish you have to be?

Selfish.

To take a shot at whether it's CC Sabathia, the Yankees, whatever, when you recognize that people are going to die this weekend. You're having a storm of all storms. Are you not paying attention? So yes, I'm so sorry that as an adult, you got put out that, oh no, you can't get your bobblehead doll. You know how selfish that is of you? You know how many people are going to have a tough weekend? And on to next week? Losing power, tree damage, car damage.

Chris McMonigle (2:15)

People are going to go through it.

Craig Carton (2:15)

But I didn't get my bobblehead. Oh, the Yankees are screwing me.

SPEAKER_3 (2:21)

No they're not.

Craig Carton (2:22)

You can still go tonight and get your bobblehead.

Chris McMonigle (2:25)

Your Josh Hart bobblehead.

SPEAKER_3 (2:25)

You have to go today.

Craig Carton (2:26)

Today, pardon me.

Chris McMonigle (2:28)

That's the thing. So people who were planning on going tonight.

Craig Carton (2:30)

Jesus Christ, get over yourselves.

Chris McMonigle (2:32)

The people going tonight figured they would be able to go tonight and get the bobblehead. If you had work and you can only go to the night game, they're giving the bobblehead away to the first game.

Craig Carton (2:41)

Okay. All right. So that sucks.

Chris McMonigle (2:43)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (2:44)

Oh, my God. How am I going to live without my Josh Hart bobblehead?

Chris McMonigle (2:48)

Yeah, people are...

Craig Carton (2:48)

What a bunch of selfish bitches you people are. It's not something to comment, frankly.

Chris McMonigle (2:53)

A little bit much.

Craig Carton (2:54)

Oh, the Yankees are screwing me. Oh!

Chris McMonigle (2:57)

The bobblehead is nothing you can do, other than you want to say, we'll give it in between games. It's a single admission, double editor.

Craig Carton (3:02)

It's a one-admission game tonight. Oh, the Yankees are screwing me.

Great. So I hope that all you people that are selfish today, that are yelling and screaming about how the Yankees are screwing you and how CC Sabathia is screwing you. I hope you watch the news this weekend. I hope when you read the devastating stories that we are going to read about people that are displaced from their homes and people that lose family members and people that can't find their pets and people that have their basements flooded out by this crazy storm that we've never experienced other than a hurricane here in New York that we're expecting now.

How do you feel about yourself when you see these stories on the news? Because you're going to see them. It's coming. If you've seen any of the videos from South Jersey, the Wildwood area, Boardwalk already disintegrated, beach saving plans, a lot of beach towns have gone, washed away already. Like this is no joke. This isn't like, oh, it's going to be a little windy and we might get half an inch of rain.
