Craig Proposed One-on-One vs. Adam Sandler & Matt Cavanaugh Trivia

Craig Carton (0:00)

Let's be lonely, oh yeah! Carton Show Big Mac.

Quick NBA question for you, Big Mac. I'm gonna hold you to it. Your answer's gonna be the gospel. You cannot change your answer at any point moving forward. Understand the rules?

Chris McMonigle (0:13)

Yes.

Craig Carton (0:13)

We're gonna seal it. We're gonna bury it away for years to come. Come back and we're gonna review it at the end of the season, okay?

Chris McMonigle (0:19)

Grims 11 feet.

Craig Carton (0:21)

Okay, here we go. Is that right? Yeah. Here we go.

Chris McMonigle (0:24)

Okay.

Craig Carton (0:24)

Who has a better year at West? Ja Morant?

With Davian Lillard in Portland?

Chris McMonigle (0:31)

Right.

Craig Carton (0:32)

Or LaMelo Ball with Anthony Edwards in Minnesota? Come on, pick one.

Uh-huh, take your time on that one if you need to.

Chris McMonigle (0:41)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (0:42)

La-da-dee, la-da-doo, la-da-da.

Chris McMonigle (0:50)

Wow, it's tough because I think Ja's the better player. He's just so un... You can't count on him.

Craig Carton (0:55)

So, what's your answer?

Chris McMonigle (0:56)

You can't count on him to play. I guess the safe bet is ball.

Craig Carton (0:58)

You're going with LaMelo Ball?

Chris McMonigle (0:59)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (1:00)

That, sir, is the correct answer.

Chris McMonigle (1:03)

Oh, is it?

Craig Carton (1:03)

Yes, it is. Okay. They're both going to be great, but I'm just so giddy for basketball. Reach out to the Knicks today about JD coming in here next week.

Chris McMonigle (1:11)

Oh, really?

Craig Carton (1:12)

We're going to get an answer on that next day or so.

Chris McMonigle (1:14)

Oh, we're even back in here to tip off the next season.

Craig Carton (1:15)

Well, the way I view it is, I'm the good luck charm for the Knicks and Mr. Dolan, James Dolan.

Chris McMonigle (1:19)

You didn't hurt.

Craig Carton (1:20)

So, came in three times, won every time, won a championship. We've now extended the invitation for Jimmy D to come in. And I was greedy.

I'm the opener.

Chris McMonigle (1:33)

Oh, on the night of the opener.

Craig Carton (1:34)

I'm the opener. Tuesday the 20th coming up. One week from today, Knicks Sixers.

Chris McMonigle (1:40)

Knicks basketball is back in a week.

Craig Carton (1:41)

Ring ceremony, banner ceremony.

Chris McMonigle (1:43)

That feels good.

Craig Carton (1:44)

Owner of the Knicks in the studio, talking Knicks basketball.

Chris McMonigle (1:49)

I think we're going to be as locked in to every Knicks game as we've ever been.

Craig Carton (1:53)

You know I have, for sure. No, I know.

Chris McMonigle (1:54)

But you always are.

Craig Carton (1:56)

Yes.

Chris McMonigle (1:56)

I'm talking about, like, just on it. Now that they're champions, this is going to be a great basketball.

SPEAKER_3 (2:01)

It's going to be back to mid-90s garden.

Craig Carton (2:03)

It is. It was the place you had to be.

Chris McMonigle (2:06)

Look, I don't know if they're going to win again, but they're going to be a good team. They're going to be in another tough playoff series.

Craig Carton (2:09)

How old are you, 94, 95?

Chris McMonigle (2:11)

The summer of 94, I'm 9

Craig Carton (2:13)

Teenager?

Chris McMonigle (2:15)

No, 10

Craig Carton (2:15)

All right, so you didn't get to experience as an adult.

Chris McMonigle (2:18)

No.

Craig Carton (2:19)

But you can appreciate how you've been here long enough.

Chris McMonigle (2:21)

Yeah, I mean, I remember.

Craig Carton (2:22)

Madison Square Garden in the mid-90s, it was every night an event, because the Knicks were good enough to win a championship. Didn't, obviously. That's going to be that times a million this year at the Garden.

Chris McMonigle (2:35)

No, it's going to be great.

Craig Carton (2:36)

It's going to be so effing awesome. I can't wait. I can't wait. I just got Pick Which Games I want to go to.

That's my biggest thing this fall.

Chris McMonigle (2:45)

Well, let me know.

Craig Carton (2:47)

No, no. I got Pick Which Games I want to go to, is what I said.

Chris McMonigle (2:51)

Yeah, well, let me know.

Craig Carton (2:52)

Why do you say when I'm going to a game?

Chris McMonigle (2:54)

Because you're bringing me.

Craig Carton (2:56)

Well, I mean, you're like sixth in line.

Chris McMonigle (2:57)

I can get my own tickets. The boys need to go too.

Craig Carton (2:59)

So if you can get us to three, that'd be great. I'm not taking your sons. That's not happening. Thank you very much.

I made it clear to you. I love you boys.
