Let's talk Freemantle Dockers. Of course, they have the upcoming game against the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium on Friday night. We can expect another big crowd at that game. Craig O'Donoghue is predominantly our Dockers man. He writes for the West Australian. He joins us on the show. Codd, welcome.

Morning Duff, Friday night free again. It changes the whole weekend when you get Friday night free. It's good.

**Mark Duffield** (1:30)
It does. You get the weekend off. It's a very good call actually.
It certainly does change things. Mind you, I remember when I used to work for the West and our tips used to go in the paper. If you got the Friday night one wrong, it could really put a dampener on your Saturday morning. I reckon if you got the Friday one right, you tended to think you were tipping well, even if you woke up on Sunday and realized you still only had four. There was something about getting off to a good start on the weekend that tended to color your weekend.

Yeah, well, I think that was certainly the case last weekend.
I got Thursday night wrong, then I got Friday night Melbourne Geelong wrong, and I was like, please, Freo, just give me a tip. It would be nice to start the week with at least one in the bag. I didn't do much very well for the rest of the weekend either. I fell well, actually. I was in second spot. I think I dropped down to fifth now, so it wasn't a good weekend.

**Mark Duffield** (2:23)
Yeah, well, I was rarely as high as second, so I would have been happy with fifth. I think I got that high quite a few times. But hey, the Cox Darcy battle at Fremantle. Now, Big Sean found some form for Peel on the weekend in their win over Subiaco. Where do you see that as being at at the moment?

**Craig O'Donoghue** (2:42)
I think one is enough for him. It would be the basic philosophy with it. He's got to pull several games together just to get his fitness back up again. So when you don't play the two games in a row, and so he had the week off when they had the five day break, and then he didn't play the following week because Peel had to buy.
That's two weekends of footy where you just don't get to run around properly. You can do as much training as you want, but it's not the same as an actual game. So he's played the one game now. I would have thought he needs to have a couple more to really put solid minutes into his legs, solid minutes into his body of wrestling big blokes, and then suddenly it becomes back down to then form between the two guys. But I don't think he's in a position physically at the moment to be able to say, I have demanded a spot yet.

Yeah, I think that's a fair call. The other big news, of course, out of yesterday, Murphy Reed, the contract resigning until 2032 They're really, they're pretty much locked and loaded for a number of tilts at it now, aren't they?

**Craig O'Donoghue** (3:40)
Yeah, there's barely anyone who they don't have, who they would want to have locked away for a hell of a long time. They've done a really great job. When you consider how long 2032 is, like, he's a teenager now, and he might be married by the time he ends up at a contract again, or, you know, he could have kids by the time he's at a contract again. That's a big difference between being 19 and being 26 So it's fantastic for them. And they've done that with a lot of guys. You can go Jay Hamas has locked in really early, and Hayden Young was locked in really early, and Stanley Brennan-Cox, and Josh Tracy. And you go through all these guys who have done long-term deals, so the club doesn't have to worry about them being raided by other teams. Players have the financial security going by a house or set up their life in any way that they want. And they know where they're going to be playing for a long time, so they can just focus on one aspect of their game, and the club can build around them. And I think it's great for Murphy Reid. He now knows exactly where he's playing, and there aren't to be 19-year-olds who have a contract that long where they can say, I've been rewarded for being a star for the first two years.
