Oh yeah, Carton Show Big Mac.
Big Weekend College Football. I see this hurricane, maybe I messed with that down south a little bit. You got NFL football. For those of you that do still love baseball, even with the Yankees or Mets not involved, you got a championship series.
Chris McMonigle (0:17)
Saturday is game five of the ALDS, the other ALDS.
Craig Carton (0:20)
Oh, that's still going?
Chris McMonigle (0:21)
Cleveland Force, both road teams have won both games.
Craig Carton (0:24)
Who even knew that?
Chris McMonigle (0:25)
And now they're heading back to Cleveland, tied up 2-2.
Craig Carton (0:27)
So let me get this right, stop there for a second so I understand, because I've not been paying attention much, because I was all in on the Yankees. You're saying that it's going to a fifth game?
Chris McMonigle (0:37)
Yes.
Craig Carton (0:37)
You're saying that the White Sox won the first two games on the road in Cleveland?
Chris McMonigle (0:43)
Yes, they did.
Craig Carton (0:44)
And then Cleveland didn't just fold like a cheap suit? They went on the road and they won two games?
Chris McMonigle (0:49)
Correct. I believe coming from behind yesterday as well.
Craig Carton (0:52)
Huh, interesting. Be careful what you say, because they rack things and play them later on, in different context.
Chris McMonigle (0:56)
They came from behind.
Craig Carton (0:58)
Okay, again, be careful what you say on the show.
SPEAKER_3 (1:00)
There's no other way to say that.
Craig Carton (1:02)
Well, they lost the first two games, they won the next two games.
SPEAKER_3 (1:04)
They came back from losing the game at one point?
Craig Carton (1:06)
It turns me on when you talk Tierney like that to me. In any event, that's interesting. Oh, wait a minute. Did the Dodgers sweep the Braves to go to the NLCS?
SPEAKER_3 (1:15)
No.
Craig Carton (1:15)
Braves won a game.
Chris McMonigle (1:16)
Yes.
Craig Carton (1:16)
So it is possible not to get swept?
Chris McMonigle (1:19)
In fact, the Yankees are the only team that did. Oh.
Craig Carton (1:23)
I thought there was something unique about it. Got it. All right. Got it.
Chris McMonigle (1:27)
Yeah. Tough one. Thanks, man.
Craig Carton (1:29)
You got it.
SPEAKER_3 (1:30)
Here's Jimmy. I appreciate that.
Craig Carton (1:31)
Jimmy's in Warren County on the fan. Jimbo, what's cooking, baby?
SPEAKER_3 (1:35)
What's up, Craig?
Craig Carton (1:37)
All right.
SPEAKER_3 (1:37)
What's up? C-Mac, what's going on? C-Mac, I don't know if you knew, but Craig was the number two ranked dreamographer on the East Coast when he was at Syracuse. I know. I don't know if you knew that. You're saying Mass is pregnant.
Craig Carton (1:48)
That's correct.
SPEAKER_3 (1:50)
No, Craig, I can't agree more. You know, this is a must win game ever since last night, but it's killing me that this stuff opens wide open, and we lost Dart. C-Mac, is that true and you do? I was thinking about that. In the back of your head?
Chris McMonigle (2:02)
I was thinking about that last night too.
SPEAKER_3 (2:04)
Good boy, Ashley.
Chris McMonigle (2:04)
You think about if the original prognosis was correct, and it was four to six weeks, knowing that these games were winnable, they'd be three and one right now with a real chance to go four and one, waiting another week or two for Jackson Dart to come back. Like, we would be feeling, we would be like, Harbaugh is good enough to win games without him, and here he comes back. Like, it's just, it would have been, we would have been so optimistic, and we still are, but we would have been so much more optimistic if Jackson Dart had only had a four to six week injury. Yeah.
SPEAKER_3 (2:34)
But wait, and to be back when I'm getting puffed up.
Craig Carton (2:37)
And to be fair, I think you'd still be three and one with Jackson Dart.
Oh, I think the Rams would have beaten you regardless. Agreed. You're right. It's a great call, Jimmy.
Chris McMonigle (2:46)
They weren't winning that game against the Rams.
Craig Carton (2:47)
I didn't contemplate that at all, maybe because I'm not a giant fan. That's a great call to start us off today, that in a year in which the Eagles obviously have fallen back, and are human, and the Cowboys' defense has riddled with injuries, and obviously Washington loses their starting quarterback, the New York Giants in year one of hardball could have stolen this division.
Chris McMonigle (3:06)
I would already be banging the drum that they are going to win.
