Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, yeah! 217 Carton Show Big Mac!
By the way, I did hear the guys pretending that I say the term by the way a lot on this show. The problem with today's vicious attack was that they made it seem like I said it 44 times yesterday what that rat weasel Kaplan, who I adore by the way, said to those guys, as he had told from yesterday's show, it clearly was not. They took me saying it from multiple shows, edited together in high secrecy.
Chris McMonigle (0:39)
How can you be so sure?
Craig Carton (0:40)
Because I listened to it. Just now during the break.
Chris McMonigle (0:43)
But you can tell it's a different day?
Craig Carton (0:44)
Because of the things we're talking about. Hey, yesterday's game. Hey, that time was up. Yeah, so I appreciate that. But you've woken a giant, a sleeping giant that has avoided all confrontation at work, has now been awoken. And Kaplan's a great guy, does a great job here at the fan. He's currying favor to Boomer & Gregg and Evan and Tiki. And I even have a level of respect for that.
But you've started a war you cannot win, sir. So the gauntlet has been laid down, much like the professors at MIT, we will respond with vigor in the days to come.
All in good nature, all in good fun.
Chris McMonigle (1:33)
Of course. Do you say by the way a lot?
Craig Carton (1:37)
Yeah, but I've always said by the way.
We used to do a segment called By The Way. It was like a featured segment that brought millions of dollars in sponsorship money here at the fan. So I was slowly bringing it back. Yeah.
Chris McMonigle (1:50)
So bring it back.
Craig Carton (1:51)
I am bringing it back.
Chris McMonigle (1:51)
It's not going to change how I do what I do.
Craig Carton (1:53)
I'm telling you that right now. Here's Stevie Long Island on the fan. Stevie, what's going on, kiddo?
SPEAKER_3 (1:58)
Hey, Craig, how are you doing?
Craig Carton (1:59)
Doing good, sir.
SPEAKER_3 (2:00)
As you began your show, all is well in giant land.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not about to put dirt on the guy and bury him. I just feel as though, hopefully he survives and lives till 100 Or just be out for this season because we play him the last game of the year. Well, we play him the last game of the year to be out for the season. Because let's be honest, do you think and it was one year shed in Philly when Dart went down?
Craig Carton (2:26)
No, to the contrary.
SPEAKER_3 (2:27)
No.
Chris McMonigle (2:29)
Unfortunately, it is a little bit different because this is a scarier situation. Dart's knee is going to be okay. They'll have surgery. Blood clots can be dangerous to your life.
Craig Carton (2:40)
It's a different kind of medical thing.
Chris McMonigle (2:42)
They seem to be on it.
Craig Carton (2:43)
But that's why I'm asking the question. As a giant fan, this is different than, oh yeah, it sucks the guy tore his Achilles.
But you know he's going to return from it next year. This is a different type of medical thing.
Chris McMonigle (2:55)
It's scary.
Craig Carton (2:55)
Like nobody wants to hear, oh you have a blood clot and it moved. Because once it gets back into that bloodstream, it's going to your heart. And then you die in your sleep, God forbid, obviously, right?
But you're in a weird spot. Because from a football standpoint, it's fantastic news for you as a giant fan.
From a humanity level, how could you not feel bad for the guy and want him to be well?
That's why I'm putting the question to giant fans, and I'm making you choose. That guy chose, this is awesome. Yes.
Chris McMonigle (3:30)
He chose...
Craig Carton (3:32)
That's what he chose.
Chris McMonigle (3:33)
Door number one.
Craig Carton (3:33)
And I'll tell you this. I guarantee what he said is right. When Eagle fans woke up to the news that Jackson Dart got hurt in that game, the nighttime game against the Rams, I'm sure their reaction was, yes.
Because don't forget, the Giants had beaten the Dallas Cowboys, and they look like, that's not the Giants team I've seen the last couple of years. So I'm sure Eagle fans celebrated at some level.
Chris McMonigle (3:57)
I'm sure they did. It is a different injury, but yeah, I'm sure they did. And I don't think Giants fans are going to celebrate this necessarily. To me, it's almost more, and I've already said it, but to me, it's more of a focus now. Giants got to do, like, it just, we knew the window had opened a little bit, right? They had already beaten the Cowboys. They stubbed their toe, national prime time against Tampa Bay.
